I do not know if this will be of any help to the recent Parker inquiries but the state of VA and the religion Methodist both caught my eye. Jefferson Co., VA is now Nelson County, KY. William Parker (see below) was said to be a first cousin of Peter Parker, an travelling Methodist preacher who ran against Abraham Lincoln in a governor's race in IL. I do not have any parents for William Parker b. 1794 in VA/KY. Wm. Parker may have been a brother to James Parker, Sr. and George per text below.
