Kearsarge, Erie CO, PA was born in Berry, Vt., Nov. 10, 1810, and is a son of JONAS and (second wife) AMANDA (ALLEN) PARKER, who settled in Mill Creek Township, Erie Co., in 1814. Mr. Ora Parker was married in Mill Creek, Oct. 20, 1842, to Emily MARTIN, daughter of Andrew and Margaret (Clark) Martin, who settled in Erie Co. in 1800; 6 children were born to this union: Sophia J., Cassius C., David C., Emily F., Ora F., and Jonas A.. Both of the daughters (Emily & Sophia) and David all died within a weekof each other, of diphtheria, in 1863. In 1842, Mr. Ora Parker left Mill Creek Twp and settled in what is now Summit Township, where he has since resided. He has a farm of 200 acres under cultivation, and cleared by himself. He has been Collector one term, and served as School Director several terms. Mr. Parker was formerly a Whig, but has been a Republican since the organization of that party. Source: Samuel P.
