    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Parker, Jones, Ratliff, Ross Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.parker/5893.5962/mb.ashx Message Board Post: My husband's father was William Ross Parker B: 1894, lived in Gonzales,Tx. His father was Benjamin Framklin Parker.B: 1866 Eagle Lake, Tx. married to Sylvanda Jones, dau. of Milton McGar Jones and wife Sarah Elizabeth Ross.Benjamin parents were James "Jim" Parker married to Mary Annie Ratliff. We have conflicting reports where James was born. Their children besides Benjamin were: William H. (Henry we believe)Parker, B:20 Jun. 1855, Miss.: Thadeus Parker Abt 1859, Miss: Joseph Parker B: 15 Jul. 1862. Jim and Mary died some way abt> 1873 in the Eagle Lake, Tx. area. Whatever they died from we only know of Benjamin, William H. and Joseph finally moving to Gonzales Co., Tx. and raising their families there. If you can help me locate some more of the family on the Parker side I would love to know about them. There has to be some Indian in the family as my husband shows in his coloring. His father always said they were kin to cynthia Ann Parker that was captured by the Indians at! Fort Parker, Tx. but other than that I cn't find the nissing link if there is one other than some of the names of some of those Parker's being in common.

    3. Don't see anything that matches - My Parkers all came from Ga and AL and none were in TX until after the Civil War. Thanks. 2. gc-gateway, Unfortunately, everyone must have that Quannah/Cynthia Ann Parker story. My husbands family had the same story. I have several pictures of them and you would definitely think there was indian, in fact a couple of them looked full indian. In the pictures they appear to be a little darker skinned and had black hair, dark eyes and high cheekbones. BUT, Cynthia Ann Parker and all only go back about 3 generations. That is not hard to trace back. Much to my husbands family's dissapointment, there is absolutely no connection. Where they got those dark looks, we have no idea. But they were in Jones & Perry Counties in Mississippi. Some of them moved to Angelina, Parker and several other east texas counties. Good Luck, kathy wells. ----- Original Message ----- From: <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> To: <PARKER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, December 18, 2006 1:54 PM Subject: Re: [PARKER] I have a Parker Tree back to 1609 > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Parker, Jones, Ratliff, Ross > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.parker/5893.5962/mb.ashx > > Message Board Post: > > My husband's father was William Ross Parker B: 1894, lived in Gonzales,Tx. > His father was Benjamin Framklin Parker.B: 1866 Eagle Lake, Tx. married to > Sylvanda Jones, dau. of Milton McGar Jones and wife Sarah Elizabeth > Ross.Benjamin parents were James "Jim" Parker married to Mary Annie > Ratliff.
