Hello PARKER Researchers, I have just joined your mailing list in the hope that I can break through a 6 year brick wall in my FOSTER family. I have known for about 6 years that my ggg grandparents were Frederick FOSTER and Sarah "Sally BROADAWAY. He was b 1793 someplace in KY and she 1797 (Person) NC. They were married 7 Sep 1813 Lebanon (Wilson) TN. Their first child, Mary Ann, was born in Wilson County. Then they went south to Lincoln County where their second child, Anthony Smith FOSTER was born. By 1820 they had traveled north to Franklin County IL where their third child, my gg grand[pa, John Broadaway FOSTER was born. On that 1820 Federal Census Franklin County, Illinois, Roll M33_11, page 39. image number 42, we find: Federic FORSTER (sic) with all the right ages for his family...next door: John H. PARKER age 16-28 and his wife, also age 16-28 - no children - newlyweds...next door: Henry FORSTER age over 45 with wife over 45 and one male 16-26 When I first saw the spellings of names, I thought the enumerator must have been a bad speller. It is possible that this is the time of transition from FORSTER to FOSTER. From this point forward, the spelling was and is FOSTER. This Henry FORSTER must have been a significant person in Frederick's life, perhaps his father, although family lore has his father as a George. John H PARKER's wife's name is identified in the 1850 census as Elizabeth. I believe Elizabeth was a FORSTER/FOSTER, daughter of Henry and perhaps sister of Frederick. John H. and Elizabeth PARKER are found in 1830 in Rhea County TN and living nearby appear to be his father, William, and brothers, Thomas and Johnny. By 1840 they were in Tuscaloosa, AL. By 1850 and 1860 they are settled in Crooked Creek Twp of Carroll County AR They have the following children: Benjamine G., Thomas, Harriet, James W., Ari M., Elisabeth, Columbus, and living in the home was Mary Snelson, the age of John and Elizabeth. Do you know of John H PARKER and do you know of his wife, Elizabeth? Any information will be appreciated. Thank you, Larry Foster Solvang, CA
