Place and date: At Petersburg, Va., 2 April 1865, at Sailors Creek, Va., 6 April 1865. Entered service at: Providence, R.I. Birth. England. Date of issue: 29 May 1867. Citation. Planted the first color on the enemy's works. Carried the regimental colors over the creek after the regiment had broken and been repulsed.
