Chauncey, christian and victor are buried together in the mount view cemetery, but it is in New York not MA. I have been there and i have pictures of all the parker graves there. there is one head stone for chauncey and christian together. It reads EXACTLY - CHAUNCY G. PARKER 1824 - 1891 CHRISTIAN 1827 - 1905 Victor Parker is on the right side. His stone reads - VICTOR H. PARKER - BORN OCT. 12, 1867 - DIED NOV. 5, 1888 Our brother is gone but not forgotten. The graves are of interest. Victors stone is an older style true to the times. It is also broken and laying flat on the ground. Chauncy and christian's stone is more newer looking, about 40's starting style. The cemetery had actually been located in a different part of town. It was moved in the first year or so after 1900. so chauncy and victor would have been moved to the current location. also the 3 of them are about 50 feet or so away from the rest of the old section that would have been moved. i have tried to contact the person in charge of the cemetery and i have not gotten a response yet. Victor had died from an accident at the company in PA that he worked. A large piece of machinery had forcably come off and hit him, he was knocked down and fell about 2 stories. the article in the paper reports that he was dead before he hit the ground. As to why you can not find any one in the 1860 census. Chauncey went into the war. i have found the names of the children spread through out PA and NY during that time. the ages match up so i assume it to be them. but i can not be positive yet. christian i have not yet found. i have not found where chauncy signed up for the army. but i have found him in a regiment. there had been a family story that acounts of chauncy often in the winter time wearing his union coat from when he was a soldier. there was also mention of him being in a prison at some time in his life in Anderson. if you look into it in the south there was a war prison for the confederate army called anderson prison. it was notorious for prisoners to be treated the worst at this prison and the death rate was very high with many soldiers not making it past 6 months of imprisonment. i found when and where his regiment was captured and sent to anderson. i have yet to find a record of him traveling on his way back home. he luckily had been captured at the end of the war and had only spent a few months there. on a side note as well, i went to the cemetery after memorial day and chauncy did not have a flag on his grave. i am going to soon inquire to the local veterns assoc. as to how i can go about seeing that he get the recognition he deserves. as for christian. she is buried in olean with her husband and son. there are 3 or 4 unused plots that she had purchased as well. her lines have been documented pretty well online. so you should not have a problem finding that. i have recently come across a person who is trying to find a document that list who her father is. they need this info to give proof that she is who she is and appearently her lines link all the way back to the mayflower. thats why the proof is needed. i have not figured out who his parents are. he was infact born in vt. i have just recently gone back into researching him. i have found a few leads that i am trying to follow. but since the census for when he would have lived with his parents only lists the name of the head of household and not of any other members it will take longer as i have to find other sources. i am hoping to find a baptism cert. so if i find out more i will post it here for anyone who has interest. i hope some of this helps.
