    1. Re: [PARKER] 3 Parker Brothers: Moses, Daniel, John
    2. Betty, I have heard, and am very interested, in the three Parker brothers theory, even though it has problems. The chief problem is that it has been commandeered by several Parker genealogists attempting to link their ancestors to the Texas Parkers of Quannah Parker fame. The Texas Parkers' origins are in Baltimore, MD and Hampshire County, VA, while the Parkers of the Three Brothers Theory has a hazy background--some say Georgia and some sources point to north Virginia. I heard one version of the Three Parkers Theory state that the three brothers were convicts being sent to Georgia when they jumped ship off the Georgia shore and made their way to the Carolinas. One version says the three brothers were Moses, Daniel, and Isaac or some such, while another version says the third brother was Richard. Interestingly enough, there WAS a Moses Parker born 1744 who lived at least in VA, and there WAS a Daniel Parker NOT of the more famous Texas clan who was born about 1750. The Moses Parker appears to later be part of Parkers somewhere in NC and also related to or the same as the Moses Parker who had a large family along the Pee Dee River in northeast South Carolina. During the Revolution both Moses and Daniel served with the patriot militia under Colonel Francis "Swamp Fox" Marion. There is a record of a Daniel Parker who became a sergeant under Marion, so this may be the same man. After the war the Three Brothers Theory gets really hazy. Moses and Daniel Parker appear to also be related to several Aarons, and John Parkers, too. There seems to be a Francis Parker in there, also. Does anyone have anything else on the Three Parker Brothers Theory? I descend from the Daniel's first wife, Susan. Bruce Nichols
