Hello Cousins, I received the below message from Martin Plummer. I am not able to give him any assistance with the identity of the James PARKER he mentions. Email me if you want to correspond with Mr. Plummer. Dennis West PARKER DNA project co-admin http://web.utk.edu/~corn/parkerdna/ ----------------------------------------------- Dear Sirs I have large china jug with the name James Parker 1865 painted on it. I understand that it was offten the practice to buy such things to commemorate a birth. I bought the jug in England about ten years ago. Did any of his decendants move to the U.K.? Was it also common practice to do this in the US.? There is no manufacturers mark on the base as it is not fine china, but is still very pretty. I saw on the net that a sailor called James Parker died in 1865 who had served on Nelson's flagship Victory at the battle of Trafalgar. Regards Martin Plummer
