    3. Dorothy "Dolly" Parker b 2 Oct 1757 France lived at Monmouth NJ at the time of the Battle of Monmouth 18 JUN 1778. According to lore Dolly was a nurse in the Continental Army, and trained as a nurse in the French army before coming to NJ with her father's family prior the revolution, thus tells about when this Parker family arrived there, if accurate. I haven't found any clue yet who her parents were except that her father was a physician, born perhaps 1730s or earlier. She'd gone to the battlefield the morning after the battle and her husband-to-be John COOK was among the victims she managed to take to her father's house for care. That is all I know about her life as a young woman. Also if she really was a nurse for the Continental Army I'd like to document that because the DAR message board volunteers suggested she could be registered on her own, not only as her husband's wife. That suggestion was offered eagerly to me so of course I'd like to try! Kaye in Texas __________________________________ Yahoo!
