    2. K Powell
    3. His wife on 1850 census was Phebe b abt 1805 NY. 2 known children were Robert b abt 1816 and Augusta b abt 1830 NY. Local histories of Delaware Co, NY state Amasa J Parker 2 Jun 1807 Sharon, Litchfield CT - 13 May 1890 Albany NY was his nephew. Amasa J was son of Reverent Daniel thus Daniel b abt 1780 MA was apparently Amasa above's brother. Both Amasas were lawyers and NY politicians. "Colonel Parker was born in Litchfield county, Conn., in 1784. He was graduated from Yale College, studied law In Litchfield and afterward with Peter Van Schaik at Kinderhook, N. Y. In 1812 he removed to Delhi and formed a law partnership with Samuel Sherwood, then in the acme of his professional career. This lasted until Mr. Sherwood removed to New York." "His residence was near that of Mr. Sherwood at the influx of the Little Delaware. Afterward he formed a partnership with his nephew, Amasa J. Parker, which continued until the latter was appointed a judge and removed to Albany. Then he still continued the practice of law with his son, Robert Parker. His distinguished services in his profession ended with his death in 1855." (of Amasa J:) "He was the son of Rev. Daniel Parker, a Congregational clergyman who for many years was the pastor of a church in Sharon, Connecticut. He was born in Sharon in 1807; but in 1816 the father removed to Greenville, in Greene county, N. Y., where he took charge of the Academy of that place." I'm wanting to learn if I can who were the parents and grandparents of Amasa and Daniel. My ancestor Dolla / Dolly Parker 1757 - 1836 is said in various written accounts to be their cousin. Although I don't know that means 1st cousin, it should give me an idea what Parkers to be digging into. Kaye in Texas __________________________________ Discover Yahoo!
