I'm going to try coming into some info by way of the back door to my Parker search. I am looking for any descendants of Sarah Elizabeth Nixon Parker & spouse Benjamin Parker of Maryland... Benjamin may have been an Iron worker/Blacksmith. It's said that he helped mold and erect the First Iron Rails made in U.S. in 1844 Mt. Savage, Allegany Co. MD. I understand that Benjamin was married 3 times. 1st; Mary Fichter, 2nd; Rachel Ward & 3rd; Sarah E. Nixon. Together Benjamin & Sarah Elz. had 7 children; Benjamin F. Parker b. ca 1835 Thomas Parker b. ca 1837 Elizabeth Parker b. ca 1843 Margaret Parker b. ca 1844 Henry Clay Parker b. ca 1847 Florence Parker b. ca 1852 William Parker b. ca 1852 All possibly born in Maryland. Story was that Benjamin the spouse died and Sarah E. Nixon Parker returned, with her 7 children, to Ohio where she was born & had relatives there. She is listed as "washer woman" in 1860 Census. Knox Co. OH She is buried at Quarry Chapel Cemetery in Knox Co. Ohio. I am trying to find more of Benjamin Parker and location of where they married. Perhaps it can give me new direction of where Benjamin and his parents ( Robert Parker & Mary) lived before Benjamin's marriage to Sarah E. Nixon. Would like to know more about Sarah E. also. Anyone come across this Parker group in their search ??? Thanks for any help----it has been so long since I have had any new data for my Parker family. Do appreciate any corrections or direction to my search. Take care Pat H.
Pat, My information is that Benjamin's father, Robert Parker married in Washington Co. Kentucky in 1790 and his grandfather died in that county in 1799. That may be the location you are looking for.
