The following is what I found:- APPLICATION FOR A FREE PASSAGE TO SOUTH AUSTRALIA John Parker, occupation Gardener of Somerton, Somerset England, married aged 40 years and wife aged 39 years and two sons, aged 6yrs and 3 years. applied for a free passage to South Australia 27th February 1840. application Number 7239 and embarkation No. 4501 1841 CENSUS IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA. The 1841 Census was the first Census in South Australia. I found the following in the Census information:- RESIDENCE FOR PARKER FAMILY IN 1841 CENSUS John Parker aged under 50 years, and Ann under 50 years and George under 14 years and David under 21 years resided in District "B" at the time of the Census.
