Author: thekingrat Surnames: Parker, Murphy Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.parker/15862/mb.ashx Message Board Post: My 3rd great grandparents were Patrick Parker and Mary Murphy, born in Ireland, emigrants first to Canada and then to Wisconsin and Iowa. One of their sons was John Parker, born about 1850 in Saint Mary, Ontario. I've found him in the 1860 census in Patch Grove Wisconsin and in 1880 in Washington Township of Butler County, Iowa. He may be listed as Leonard Parker in the 1851/52 census of Canada, but I'm not certain of that. His siblings mostly resided in the Belmond and Ackley areas of Iowa, though his brother migrated further west to Wibaux Montana. If anyone runs across a mention of him, however brief or fleeting, please respond to this thread. I don't have a lot to go on at this point, and his name is exceedingly common.
