Author: pandjparker Surnames: Ephraim Parker Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.parker/15874.2.2.3/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Ephraim Parker, son David Parker and some descendants It appears that Ephraim Parker was born in North Carolina, perhaps Hertford County, ca. 1810. It is possible that he was a cousin or relative of James H. Parker who also was born in Hertford Co. NC 1810. If it also very possible that his Parker bloodline was completely different from that of James H. Parker, but until YDNA can be tested, unclear. Ephraim Parker married Eletha Unknown, also from NC. He and his family were enumerated on the 1840 Southern District of Hertford Co., North Carolina census. Also on that same census, same page, were Henry Best and large extended family of Best relatives, and a James Parker. It is unclear if the James Parker was related to Ephraim Parker. Ephraim Parker and wife Eletha married NC ca. 1840 and had several children. The first few were all born in North Carolina through son David D. Parker born ca. 1845. Then ca. 1847 the family migrated to Marshall Co. Mississippi where the rest of Ephraim's children were born. David D. Parker grew up in Marshall Co. Mississippi and as a young adult, enlisted in the Confederate Army of the Civil War. After his return to Mississippi at the end of the Civil War, he married Widow Sarah Jane Best Robinson. About Sarah Jane Best Robinson: On descendant family trees, Sarah Jane Best's father was listed as Abijah Best, and he was enumerated in 1840 in Northern District of Mississippi. On the 1850 Marshall Co. MS census were enumerated dozens of Bests representing many family units. Abijah Best's family settled also in the Marshall County, Mississippi area. Sarah Jane Best was born ca. 1842 in Mississippi. In 1859, Sarah Best married Archibald Robinson in Marshall Co., Mississippi. They had two sons, and at the beginning of the Civil War, Archibald enlisted for the Confederacy. He died in 1863 at the Battle of Fredericksburg, Virginia, leaving a widow and two sons (Archibald Robinson and Winfield Robinson) in Mississippi. More about David D. Parker: In 1868, David D. Parker married the Widow Sarah Jane Best Robinson. They raised her Robinson sons also in Mississippi whose histories are unclear. More about David D.
