I am trying to help my cousin find some proof: We have John Henry Parker, born and raised in Georgia, who is 'reported to be' a 1st cousin of Cynthia Ann Parker, who was taken in 1836 by the Indians in Texas. It is a known fact that Quannah Parker's son came to visit a son of this John Henry Parker in Texas, offering land in Oklahoma, reservation, to his widow. She turning it down because all of her family was in Texas. The grand-daughter of this John Henry Parker, Emma Bell Parker Hudson, was my uncle Ike Hudson's wife, with her father being Albert Eugene Parker, known as Gene, or Eugene. There is a letter written by her cousin telling that Emma's grandfather was a 1st cousin to Cynthia Ann Parker (a copy having been shared with me.) However, the letter does not give a name for his father, nor explain exactly 'how.' Given information from my cousin's daughter, who is the one trying to prove this, I am having trouble with 'time line and location.' John Henry Parker is attributed to a William Floyd Parker on Roots web ... using other's info. for clues... but then, where would William fit into the Parker bunch of the massacre? Time line shows that Elder John Parker, with his children had left Georgia, moved to Tenn., Ills., and eventually into Texas. Two of his sons were killed in that massacre, 1836, one being the father of Cynthia Ann. The John Henry Parker we are trying to track would have been born three years after the 'attack.' Does anyone have information that will help us in this attempt? Can we prove, disapprove, or get on the right track to determine relationship to Cynthia Ann Parker? God bless, Annette Rose, who normally signs off as 'ear'
