    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: joanetta4 Surnames: Parker Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.parker/4531.4550.4555.4559.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: As of now the only information I have is that John and Piety Parker living in North Carolina had four children: Sarah, Esther, Greene, and Caesar. John and Piety lived in Pitt County, near the Falkland Post Office in North Carolina with their 4 children. Esther was the oldest followed by Sarah, then Greene and Caesar was their last child. I don't know which of their children were the parent (s) of the grandchildren but here are the names and ages in 1870; John age 3, Lucy and Fannie twins age 8 months and Rose 7 months. I later found an 1880 census where there were two additional grandchildren, a grandson, Henry age 5 and a granddaughter Sarah age 4. So there was a daughter named Sarah and a granddaughter named Sarah. I'm guessing that the granddaughter is more likely the Sarah you may be looking for. Of course without further information on either one of them it's purely speculation on my part. On the 1880 census Piety's name is misspelled. I looked very carefully at this census to determine whether the name shown as "Rittly" should have been "Piety" and with my non-expertise eye, I decided that the name should have been Piety. That is all the information I have and as you can see for yourself it may or may not be accurate or complete. It's a place to start more indepth research. I hope this helps and I hope you have the means to request the in depth research required to hopefully answer the question of Sarah, John, and Piety.
