Robert S. Parker is on the 1850 Arkansas Census in Bradley County with mother Nancy Parker, born 1799 in South Carolina; also brother William S. Parker (also in indexes as William L. She was the daughter of Daniel McCauley and Martha Wyatt, who moved to Arkansas from Haywood County, Tennessee. Robert and family moved to the Little Rock area in the 1870's. William died in the 1860's after serving in the Civil War. Adeline married Titus Carr and they both died before 1880. It's not known what became of Nancy Parker or Ailcy Parker. I've "rescued" an old photograph of George DIMICK Jr. which was taken at the D. M. Banister Studio in Claremont, New Hampshire. George appears to be about three years old at the time, with the photograph likely taken in the 1930's or 1940's. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding George and his family: George Wallace DIMICK was b. 19 Apr 1932 in Windsor VT to parents George Wallace DIMICK (b. 3 Sept 1908 in Windsor VT) and Clara Belle PARKER (b. 5 apr 1910 in Windsor VT). George married Annie Adeline AICHER (b. 4 Sept 1929 in Bridgewater, VT) on 1 Sept 1951 in Brownsville, VT and they had two children. George died 25 Nov 1995 in Windsor, VT. I am hoping to locate someone from the family so that the photograph can be returned to their care. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

Author: pandjparker Surnames: Ephraim Parker Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.parker/15874.2.2.3/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Ephraim Parker, son David Parker and some descendants It appears that Ephraim Parker was born in North Carolina, perhaps Hertford County, ca. 1810. It is possible that he was a cousin or relative of James H. Parker who also was born in Hertford Co. NC 1810. If it also very possible that his Parker bloodline was completely different from that of James H. Parker, but until YDNA can be tested, unclear. Ephraim Parker married Eletha Unknown, also from NC. He and his family were enumerated on the 1840 Southern District of Hertford Co., North Carolina census. Also on that same census, same page, were Henry Best and large extended family of Best relatives, and a James Parker. It is unclear if the James Parker was related to Ephraim Parker. Ephraim Parker and wife Eletha married NC ca. 1840 and had several children. The first few were all born in North Carolina through son David D. Parker born ca. 1845. Then ca. 1847 the family migrated to Marshall Co. Mississippi where the rest of Ephraim's children were born. David D. Parker grew up in Marshall Co. Mississippi and as a young adult, enlisted in the Confederate Army of the Civil War. After his return to Mississippi at the end of the Civil War, he married Widow Sarah Jane Best Robinson. About Sarah Jane Best Robinson: On descendant family trees, Sarah Jane Best's father was listed as Abijah Best, and he was enumerated in 1840 in Northern District of Mississippi. On the 1850 Marshall Co. MS census were enumerated dozens of Bests representing many family units. Abijah Best's family settled also in the Marshall County, Mississippi area. Sarah Jane Best was born ca. 1842 in Mississippi. In 1859, Sarah Best married Archibald Robinson in Marshall Co., Mississippi. They had two sons, and at the beginning of the Civil War, Archibald enlisted for the Confederacy. He died in 1863 at the Battle of Fredericksburg, Virginia, leaving a widow and two sons (Archibald Robinson and Winfield Robinson) in Mississippi. More about David D. Parker: In 1868, David D. Although earlier David Parker birthdates had been consistently 1845, in 1900 he was married to a Martha/Marcia S. Unknown who was several decades his junior, and David Parker's birthdate was listed as 1848. The daughter Rachel was born 1898. On 1910 census, David Harrell Parker and his wife remained in Murfreesboro, Hertford Co. NC and had Rachel H. Before the 1920 census, David Harrell Parker had died in North Carolina, and the census listed another daughter, Audrey Parker. By 1930 Census, Rachel Parker, daughter of David and Marcia Parker, married Walter B. Gerard, and they lived in Beaufort, NC. Her mother, widow Marcia/Martha Parker, lived with them. The family position of Audrey Parker is unclear, based upon details found on her 1964 Durham NC death certificate as filed by Eunice Parker, her daughter? FG#7 currently has thirty different families, all with the same bloodline or extremely similar bloodlines and the same R haplotype. The members of FG#7 exchange histories, help each other with ancestral studies, and email and fax on a regular basis about new information and research progress. Your William is not known to be connected to our Parkers, but here is what I learned about him: 1850 NC Census: Narcissa Lankford was one of eleven children in the home of Nathan and Elizabeth Lankford. Narcissa was born 1832 in Rutherford Co. NC part of which became Polk County in 1855. 1860 NC Census: Narcissa Lankford had married William Newman in 1858 in Polk Co. He was born 1818 and had five children. Narcissa and William Newman had one infant by 1860. 1870 Census: Narcissa Newman was married to William Parker before the census. Evidently the much older William Newman either died from natural causes or perhaps in the Civil War, unclear. Narcissa's son William was born Dec. 25, 1863 but for some reason was not listed with her on the 1870 census. 1880 Census: William Jackson Parker b. 1863 was in the home of Narcissa and William Parker. When he was about 30, he married a much younger woman Lene was gone before the 1920 census. It appears he never married again. The census was unclear, bur he may have been handicapped. He was shown as not working, and his wife worked on the farm in 1910. William Jackson Parker lived for some years in Spartunburg, SC where he died; he was buried in Polk Co. NC in 1952.
