Author: falconbex Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.parker/15769.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I don't know his parentage for certain, but given his first and middle names I would look at the Dunscombes of Mount Desert. Noblett was a name used by the family in the 17th century, the grandson of Noblett Duscombe and Mary Hull, Nicholas Dunscombe (1741-1793) married an only child and heiress Martha Parker. Nicholas and Martha's second son Robert, assumed his mother's name and arms of PARKER. They had several sons, one of which could possibly be the grandfather, of your Noblett Parker. Information can be found in A genealogical and heraldic history of the landed gentry of Ireland - Burkes, 1912. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: pandjparker Surnames: Fulgham, Moore, Parker Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.parker/4531.4542.4553.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello, Heather - I realize you are looking for data on Rufus Parker and siblings, and I am looking into that for you. Here is also additional data about his wife Mary Fulgham that you may know but did not mention in your post: Mary Ann Fulgham married her first husband Needham Moore in 1858; they had three sons. Moore served in the Civil War and evidently died in service. Mary Ann Fulgham Moore married Rufus Parker in ca. 1866. They had more children. The 1880 Texas census for Gregg Co. Texas lists her as a widow, as Rufus Parker had died prior to that census, ca. 1876 or after. Jackson Parker and David Parker are actually sons of Needham Moore, although they may have adopted the Parker surname. The third son was of Needham Moore was Edward who may have died young. So, Mary Fulgham was probably a Civil War widow and the mother of at least three children when she married Rufus Parker. I should have a more complete report for you tomorrow. Author: cycollins00 Surnames: Parker,Jones,Donaldson, Harris Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.parker/15921/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am looking for information of the parents of George Samuel Parker born 1805 d. after 1880 in North Carolina and the last name of his wife, Mary b. 1812 in TN. d. before 1880. They had the following children: 1. Sarah C. Parker b. 1836 and married J.M. Harris in 1852 in Robertson Co. 2.Mary Elizabeth Parker b. 1839 d. 1878 in Todd County, Kentucky; she married Archibald Young Donaldson in 1858. 3. Arminta Parker b. 1843, married Needham B. Jones, a minister may have preached for the Red River Primitive Church in Robertson County. 4. L. A. (Vicie) Parker b. 1844. In the 1880 U.S. Census she is still living with her father, Samuel, now a widower. She is still unmarried but a son, Wallace is listed. 5. George Norfleet Parker b. 1849 d. 1936 in Henry County, TN; but lived most of his adult life in Obion County, TN. He was my great-grandfather. He married Nancy Sarah Darden Parker in 1871. On all the U.S. census, Samuel lists that his father was born in England, and his mother was born in North Carolina. I've searched for years for Samuel's parents. It looks like I'm going to have to get one of my Parker nephews to submit to the DNA project. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
