Nothing I noted (and told you about) through the life of Timothy Richard Parker implied anything Native American, just his English origins. If he or any of his sons married a Native American woman, male descendant YDNA testing would not reflect said Native blood. Female descendants of such unions would probably reflect a Native haplo, if it existed, through a mitochondrial test. Read up on the specific haplo codes for Native found in mitochondrial testing. Perhaps your great uncle in Jersey just liked funny hats. I've found a bit more information, and believe I have found the correct William E Parker, listed below. This is apparently one of the more difficult families to research, if only because of the large number of Parker family members in the Alabama area. I BELIEVE prior to William E Parker, there may be two generations of William W Parker, but data I have found conflict. If you have any information on William W Parker, below, I'd really appreciate it. The challenge is that there are a lot of William W Parkers, and census records show conflicting birth states for William E. Parker's father. I'm finding this to be more difficult than I initially anticipated. I appreciate your assistance. They were both born in England, married there and had son Richard Parker (although dates of his birth vary.) They left London, England for US on the SS Philadelphia and arrived in New York in October, 1841. The child Richard was one year old, according to the abstracted passenger list. I'm new to this, so maybe I'm missing something. I need to find a valid birth record for him with his parents names, or a census report that lists him as a son, so I can find his parent's names, right? The issue is, I can't figure out which one of the tons of William E Parkers is correct, so I'm stuck. Most of my family has passed, and my grandfather, while alive, is unable to answer my questions clearly anymore. Thanks! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Where they got that weird name, one only can guess. My thinking is that it is maybe a combination of names of parents? I am sure that Eliza decided, at some time, that she wanted to drop the name as it was and go by Eliza but that her parents or John White, decided to go with her more formal name. I am thinking she was born Johnanna Eliza Parker. She and John named their daughter, my husband's Great great grandmother, Anna Elizabeth White ... she went by Annie Elizabeth.
