I am Benjamin's gg granddaughter with his third wife. As for his parents - still working on that but sure it will tie into Elder John's bunch. They were all in the Elbert Co Ga area at the same time. If this proves true then Joseph's father would be Daniel Parker b 1749-50 died 1818 Dickson Co. TN married Sarah Mackintosh. Also in Dickson co is Daniel's son, Moses 1778-1855 who has a son Joseph A. b, 1824. Also there is a website that claims both headstones (Moses' & Joseph's)have Daniel's name. These 2 facts are le! ading me to believe that Joseph and Moses are brothers and Daniel and Sarah the parents. Perhaps this helps. Let me know if you need more. Part of this information came from a booklet by Lois White Patton titled The Lewis Parker Family, 1958. I am descended from Abraham Parker and Rose Whitlock. I'd like other descendants of his parents, John Parker (I have him as James) and Joanna or Joane Drake to note the questionable data for their marriage and her death. All trees I've seen on Ancestry say they were married in Woburn in 1616. I've not seen any source that shows settlements in Massachusetts before Plymouth in 1620. The same trees show her death in 1624 in Windsor Connecticut. The history of Hartford County indicates the first settlement by members of Plymouth County in 1631. I'd be interested to see sources that support the info in these trees. Herm, I'd be interested in your data. Did you as a Parker have access to a family bible? My paternal grandfather's name was John Richard Parker. There is a mystery surrounding him that us adult grandchildren are not able to discover. My sister suggested that it may have something to do with being related to Bonnie Parker. My father Otis A. Goodwin (Adopted out of the Parker name by his stepfather) was born in Virginia. If you have come across any of those names in your research, I would appreciate any feedback. Author: pandjparker Surnames: Parker, Morris, Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.parker/15998.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello, JParker 5248: I am not related to any of these Parker families. Your father, Dawson Albert Parker and his father Jasper Edward Parker, are two of a long line of well-documented Parker men who lived in Rusk County, Texas. Your great grandfather Edward S. Parker 1825-1904 came from Greene County, Georgia; his father William Parker 1791-1849 died in Greene County, Georgia; his father Richard Parker was born in North Carolina 1767 and raised his family in Greene Co. Georgia. To help you in your research, on his draft registration 1918, your grandfather Jasper Edward Parkr gave his own birthdate as November 25, 1883. He married Archie Ophelia Morris who also came from Rusk County, Texas. His Parker line migrated from Greene County, Georgia ca. 1853 and settled in Rusk County, Texas. Based upon the multi-tribal populations in Georgia and North Carolina prior to that time, a Native American connection (Cherokee, Chickasaw, Creek, others) has been discussed but not confirmed. In Texas, their large Parker family grew, and the generations generally remained in the area. A few descendants moved to other parts of Texas, including your grandmother, Archie Morris Parker who moved to Scurry County Texas to live with adult children after the death of her husband in Rusk Co. Certain living descendants of the Rusk County, Texas Parkers described above have done YDNA testing, but to my knowledge, the results remain private. Those Rusk Co. Parkers have also acknowledged that Bonnie Parker was also a descendant of their family through her father. I believe that, based on public census records and vital records, you will ultimately find that you are related to these Rusk County, Texas Parkers. Perhaps based upon their mutual notoriety, undocumented claims have been often made that Bonnie Parker was related to Quanah and his mother Cynthia Ann Parker. Living descendants of the Comanche tribe in Oklahoma have also done YDNA testing, but their results remain private. Beyond sharing the Parker surname and living in Texas, I know of nothing that indicates a family tie between Quanah and Bonnie Parker. So it appears that there is no available evidence that shows you related to either the family of Elder John Parker or his granddaughter, Cynthia Ann Parker or her Comanche son, Quanah. Further research by others with more extensive Comanche tribal records might give you a different answer, but unlikely. Good luck in your Parker family research.
