    3. Hello Vee, I have a PARKER line that may/could be connected to your line. My Francis PARKER bn. abt. 1837 sailed from Mystic, CT and shipwrecked off the coast of Harbour Island, Eleuthera, Bahamas. It seems he settled there and married Jane Newbold and they had at least two children, William Henry Parker, b.1857 and Sarah Parker. They then emigrated to Key West, FL. I do not know from where Francis Parker was born. He could have been from Maine. I was told he and his son William had New England accents. Just because he sailed from Mystic, Ct. does not mean he lived there or was born there. Hoping you can make a connection to your family. He was from Maine in the late 1700s and probably lived into the 1800s. This Caleb Parker was a son of Samuel Parker and Huldah Emery. Caleb was born about 1782 in Berwich, York, Maine. His birth date and place are estimated. So, he could have been born somewhere else. Don't know who he was married to. He had a brother, William Parker who was born 21 Sep 1777 in Kittery, York, Maine. He died 7 Jul 1872 and was married to Basheba Roby. He had a sister, Rhoda Parker, born about 1794 in Berwick, York, Maine. She was married to Elijah Emery. He had another brother, Samuel Parker (my 3rd Great Grandfather). Samuel was born 7 Apr 1790 in Berwick, York, Maine and died 29 Dec 1846 in Council Bluffs, Pott, Iowa (on his way to Salt Lake City with the Mormon pioneers). He was married to Hannah Edgecomb, born in 1784 in Parsonfield, York, Maine. His daughter, Mary Jane Parker is my 2nd Great Grandmother. She and her husband Thomas Butterfield came out to Utah and settled in the Salt Lake valley in about 1850. I live in Salt Lake City, Utah. Caleb had the following other brothers and sisters and I know very little about them: Olive Parker, born about 1780 Ruth Parker, born about 1792 Reubin Parker, born about 1796 My information shows all of the children of Samuel Parker and Huldah Emery being born in Berwich, York, Maine, except for William (the oldest), born in Kittery, York, Maine. Berwich and Kittery are about 20 miles apart, down near Portsmith New Hampsire, just across the borner into Maine. Caleb's father, Samuel Parker was born 2 Dec 1745 in Newcastle, Lincoln, Maine. Caleb's mother, Huldah Emery was born 9 Feb 1755 in Kittery, York, Maine They were married 1 Jul 1776 in Berwich, York, Maine. My 2nd Great Grandfather, Thomas Butterfield (husband of Mary Jane Parker, a niece of Caleb Parker) was born in Farmington, Kennebec, Maine in 1811. Farmington is about 100 miles north of Bridgton and about 130 miles north west of Cape Elizabeth. Cape Elizabeth (birthplace of your Charles Nathaniel Parker) is about 30 miles north and east of Kittery and Berwich. Bridgton is about 100 miles north of Kittery and Berwich. I would be very surprised if our Parker families are not related. My records do not show a brother to Caleb named Charles Nathaniel. Could it be that they were cousins? I need to do some more research. I have been receiving email from this Parker list and you are the first one that may have a connection to my line. We have traced this Parker line back three more generations to a Benjamin Parker who was born in about 1680 and lived in the NewCastle, Maine area. The family ended up down in the southern end of Maine (Kittery and Berwich). I suspect Benjamin Parker came from England, but have no evidence of that. Caleb's line goes: Caleb Parker abt 1782 Samuel Parker 2 Dec 1745 Benjamin Parker 29 Jul 1713 Benjamin Parker abt 1680 There are lots and lots of Parkers. Do you have any other information about this Parker line that might help tie these families together? 3. Hi all, I'm new to this list, and wonder if any of you Parker researchers know anything about Caleb and/or Charles Nathaniel Parker in Maine and/or Wisconsin and Minnesota during the 1800s? I have Charles born in Cape Elizabeth, ME on April 5, 1806 and married to Olive Emerson on December 1, 1830 - probably in Bridgton, ME. Caleb was married to Olive's sister, Clarissa Emerson, in November 1831. I don't have info on Caleb and just can't help but wonder if Charles and Caleb were brothers - who married two sisters. Both families were in the Fond du Lac, WI area in the 1850s and later, Charles appeared in Brainerd, MN in the railroad business. Help please! 3. Hi Guys and Gals, I do appreciate the many messages from you Parker listers. Apparently all is OK and I seem to be a member of the list as I did receive many replies to my last note of query, and as well, I also received my own posting this time. However, as I did not receive back my initial posting to the list about Charles Nathaniel and Caleb Parker, I can only assume that my use of lower case in the "user name" before the domain name was the problem. I'll now resend it using upper case for the user name. If the List Administrator is listening (monitoring) he/she might offer advice to all about this and, I apologize for possibly cluttering up the list. Lewis Emerson

    3. Hi List, I subscribed to the list recently and received a confirmation of this. However, when I submitted a note to the list I didn't not receive my own message back as I expected I would. I noticed that I used lower case in the address, i.e. parker-l@rootsweb rather than PARKER-L@rootsweb. Is the address case-sensitive? If not, what could be wrong? 1. [PARKER-L] Dorothy Ann Parker LIVING?? Lost cousin looking for family
    2. I am hoping to find a cousin of mine.. her maiden name was Dorothy Parker. Her mother was Dorothy May Owens, I believe. Dorothy May's mother was Hazel (Brockwell) Owens. Hazel was from KY, moved to Mississippi. Hazel's mother was Mary (Fletcher) Brockwell who married Plenny Brockwell in Graves County, KY. I do not know exactly when Hazel moved to Mississippi, though it was after 1905. I have a copy of a picture of Dorothy Ann Parker, I believe. It says it was taken in 1940. Thank you for any information anyone may have. Meg

    2. Gary Hawley
    3. I descend from Jacob Parker b. 1724 in Maryland and d. 1791 in Green Co Georgia, through his daughter Nancy. Nancy married William Beauchamp in Wordester Co MD, circa 1780. Today while going through some old data, I came across a rtf file dealing with my Parker/Beauchamp family, in this file it mentions that Nancy Parker Beauchamp and her mother, Mary Smith Parker, were both killed in a tornado. The date of Nancy's death is given by many researchers as 1796 to 1819. If this is good information, it would narrow down the dates on the deaths of Nancy and Mary. The source for this reference was given as a book "THE PARKER FAMILY" by a Joseph A Jackson. Does anyone have or know of this book? Thanks for any assistance. Gary Hawley

    3. Time to put your thinking caps back on! As you may recall, I Iocated Margaret Donohue Carlin, Grammy's sister, thanks to a tip from Paul's prodigious memory. In 1920 she was living with her husband, Charles A. Carlin in Scituate. Her mother, our great grandmother, Ellen Donohue was living with them. She was not living with them in 1930 and sometime in the 1930s, Margaret ended up in Mattapan State Hospital. Today, with an hour to spare, I went to Vital Statistics to see if I could locate a death record for Ellen, assuming that she may have died sometime between 1920 and 1930. I also looked for a record for Margaret after 1930. I had no luck with Ellen Donohue between 1920 and1930. Does anyone know if she might have come to live with Grammy after 1930? Nor could I find a death record for Margaret Carlin between 1930 and 1956. I did find their marriage record from 1914. Her maiden name is listed as Donahue, not Donohue and her parents are listed as Nellie and John. (I guess Nellie is a diminutive for Ellen.) There's no apparent maiden name for Ellen since she's listed as Ellen Donahue. By the way, There are six likely spelling variations for Donohue. For example, Grammy's maiden name is listed as Donoghue in her death certificate. This likely means a tedious search through the indices for likely a Ellen Donohue/Donahue/Donoghue/Donaghue/Donahoe/Donohoe. It's also possible that Margaret, as Grammy's younger sister may well have lived after 1956 although the thought of being in Mattapan State for twenty or more years is a pretty horrible thought. At the time of her wedding, Margaret was living at 1518 Columbia Road (a waitress) and Charles (railroad clerk) was living at 524 Broadway. She was apparently married at Sts. Peter and Paul on Broadway (now condos!) which is the same church that Grammy was married in, although she was living in Jamaica Plain at the time. This is strong evidence of those phantom South Boston relatives. Who were they?

    3. Greetings. This is my first post to the list and I hope that someone may be able to help me. I am trying to locate information on the PARKER family of Grenville County, Ontario. I am particularly interested in a Hannah Parker. She was listed as the guardian of the child of Rodolphus Fuller who died Mar 1813. This child received the pension from Rodolphus who fought with the 2nd Grenville. If anyone has any information on the Parkers or Fullers of Grenville or the surrounding areas I'd be extremely grateful for the help. Thanks, Meg Fuller www.geocities.com/robnmegszoo

    3. I am researching the Oren Parker family from MA>VT>IL. The Sherwood file has his father as Aaron Cavendish Parker, which is probably incorrect. He may have been from Cavendish, VT. Oren had brothers: Abel, Silas, and others who were also in Lake Co., IL. An Aaron Parker moved to Antioch/Avon, Lake Co., IL. and bought land there in 1837. This Aaron could also be another brother of Oren. Just don't know. He may also be the same Aaron Parker who was in the same unit as Oren Parker in the War of 1812 from VT. My query: Does anyone have a connection to the Aaron Parker who moved to Lake Co., IL.? If so, would appreciate exchanging info with you. ancestorhunt@sbcglobal.net
