In addition to Bailey JENNINGS and other siblings there was a sister of Bailey who was named Winniford/Winnifred JENNINGS, born: May 15, 1784 in Christian County, Kentucky, (according to some info that I have but other info says that Bailey JENNINGS, born: Abt. 1789 might have been born in Richmond County, Virginia,) and Winniford JENNINGS died: December 17, 1856, and she married William HARRELL on August 15, 1804 in Kentucky, probably Christian County. Looking forward to hearing from anyone who might have more information on this HARRELL family group. Thank you. Sincerely, Bellinda Myrick-Barnett

    1. PARKER, Zechariah>MA> 1659 - 1694
    2. Does anyone have any information on the death of this individual? PARKER, Zechariah was born Jan 14 1659 in Groton, Middlesex, Massachusetts to James and Elizabeth (LONG) Parker. He married Elizabeth PAGE c 1680 and they resided in Groton. In an undocumented family tree online I found a death date for him of July 27, 1694. This was the date of the Groton Massacre so if is correct I would assume he died as a result of that assault on the town. Does anyone have any documented evidence regarding his death, whether it is this date or another date? If anyone knows of any books, other than Dr. Green's book, regarding Groton that may contain information please share the name of the author and title so I can research them. Any help is appreciated. 1. 1800s/MS/Copiah/Smith/Rankin/Simpson Counties
    2. Hello, I am seeking to communicate with descendants/researchers of George Basil PARKER, born: 1858 in Smith or Rankin County, Mississippi, who married Louisa BRATTON, born: Abt. 1858. George Basil PARKER was the brother of my paternal great grandfather, Spencer B. PARKER, born: August 31, 1859 in either Smith or Rankin County, Mississippi, and they were the sons of Jeremiah "Jerry" PARKER and his 2nd/3rd wife, Sarah "Sally" JENNINGS. Jeremiah "Jerry" PARKER, I believe, 1st married a woman named Sarah "Sally?" BAZAR, (aka BAZOR, BAZER, BAYZER, etc.,) whom I believe was the mother of his 1st set of children whom are shown with him without names in the 1830 and 1840 Copiah County, Mississippi census and then in the 1850 census he is shown with his 2nd set of children for whom I do have names and they were Jacob A. PARKER, Ann(e) PARKER, and Mary/Marian/Miriam PARKER. In the 1850 census in Smith County, MS, Jeremiah "Jerry" PARKER is also shown with his 2nd/3rd wife who was the stepmother of the 2nd set of children. Don't know if the 1st wife whom I believe to have been the Sarah BAZAR who married Jeremiah PARKER on December 17 or 18, 1822 in Jefferson County, MS, (later called Pickering,) was the mother of the 1st set of children and then the 2nd set or if there was another wife and mother between Sarah BAZAR and Sarah "Sally" JENNINGS. Then after the death of Jeremiah "Jerry" PARKER, Mrs. Sarah "Sally" JENNINGS PARKER is found as the head of the household in the 1870 Rankin County, Mississippi census along with her natural children who were the 3rd set of children for Jeremiah "Jerry" PARKER. Their names were George Washington PARKER, Tabitha PARKER, Richard Thomas PARKER, Catherine Eliza "Kate" PARKER, George Basil PARKER, and Spencer B. PARKER. Spencer B. PARKER married Mrs. Rachael Moranda "Randa/Randy" LEWIS COLEMAN? BRIGHT and his brother, Richard Thomas PARKER, married Rachael Moranda's daughter, Harriet Almeada "Mead" BRIGHT, who was Rachael Moranda's daughter from either a 1st or 2nd marriage to J./John? Wesley BRIGHT. George Washington PARKER married Josephine Sophronia DELANEY and Tabitha PARKER married ? HARPER, (lost his 1st name and their descendants info in a computer crash awhile back,) Catherine Eliza "Kate" PARKER married William P. JENNINGS, (nephew of Sarah "Sally" JENNINGS,) and George Basil PARKER married Louisa BRATTON. I am looking for information on George Basil PARKER and Louisa BRATTON's descendants as well as her ancestry and any connecting information to George's father, Jeremiah "Jerry" PARKER's ancestry. Not too long ago, after much communication with other PARKER researchers investigating this line, came to the conclusion that is highly probable that the 1st set of children born to Jeremiah "Jerry" PARKER, born: Abt. 1795 possibly in Maryland, and his probable 1st wife, Sarah "Sally?" BAZAR, whom are only shown in the census as 1 boy born bet. 1820-1825, 1 girl born bet. 1825-1830, and 3 boys born bet. 1825-1830. Some of us believe that the 1st set of children are: (1.) (Son)/William? PARKER, b: Bet. 1820-1825 in either Jefferson/Pickering County, MS or in Copiah County, MS (2.) James Henry PARKER, b: Abt. 1824 in either Jefferson/Pickering County, MS or in Copiah County, MS, who married: Mary Ann EASTERLING, born: abt. 1830 in MS, (d/o Nancy McDONALD and John Nevil EASTERLING,) and James Henry PARKER and Mary Ann EASTERLING had children: Sophronia Elizabeth PARKER, William Thomas PARKER, Henry Franklin PARKER, and Andrew PARKER (3.) (Daughter)/Martha? PARKER, born: Bet. 1825-1830 in either Jefferson/Pickering County, MS or in Copiah County, MS (4.) (Son)/Nathaniel? PARKER, born: Bet. 1825-1830 in either Jefferson/Pickering County, MS or in Copiah County, MS (5.) Joe A. (Twin) PARKER, born: February 04, 1826 in Copiah County, MS, md: Jane McGOWAN/McGOWEN (6.) Robert Anderson (Twin) PARKER, born: February 04, 1826 in Copiah County, MS, died: January 20, 1906 in Cameron County, Texas, (or is this Cameron, Milam County, Texas,) who married twice...to wife #1: Mary Jane CALCOTE and wife #2: Sarah Elizabeth BULLOCK. With Mary Jane CALCOTE their children were: Mourning/Morren Helen? PARKER, Eliza Jane PARKER, George Lafayette PARKER, Ada Isabel PARKER, Coradel PARKER, Rosa PARKER, Joseph (Twin) PARKER, Robert Anderson (Twin) PARKER, Jr., Aurora Alice PARKER, William PARKER, and Jesse PARKER. And Robert Anderson PARKER, Sr. and wife # 2: Sarah Elizabeth BULLOCK were the parents of: Evie C. PARKER, Andrew PARKER, Jessie Homer PARKER, and Pinckney Boyd PARKER. Looking forward to hearing from anyone who might be able to assist me. Thank you. Sincerely, Bellinda Myrick-Barnett

    1. PARKER, Samuel and Philotheta
    2. Does anyone have any information on this couple and/or their children? PARKER, Samuel probably born in CT in 1762, son of Phineas and Martha (Wright) Married c 1785 HOWE, Philotheta b. c 1765 possibly CT - parents unknown They seem to have the following children although no information other than names is known: Polly, Philotheta, Eunice, Samuel, Cynthia, Amanda, Nancy, Lester, Roxy, and Martha. I got the above information, such as it is, from a note on the internet but there is no information noted other than what appears here. I believe they were probably all born in Connecticut as that is where Samuel's parents lived, and I have no information that they left there. Slim information, but a few unusual names which might catch someone's attention. Thanks for any information you may have to share. Jo Hogle

    1. Re: [PARKER-L] MORSE - PARKER Family Bible
    2. E. Nelson Dean
    3. Hats off to Shelley for sharing the bible records and for seeking a descendant as owner for the Morse-Parker bible. Although not a descendant, I offer the following to assist researchers. The identity of the Abigail Parker who married Jeremiah Morse is Abigail "Nabby" (Chandler) Parker, widow of James Parker of Beverly, Essex Co., MA. She was born 2 Dec 1786, baptized 3 Dec 1786 at Andover, Essex Co., MA, and died 9 Apr 1858 at Beverly. Her parents were Lt. Isaac & Nabby (Boutwell) Chandler. Abigail Chandler married first, 16 Dec 1804 (intention 1 Dec 1804) at Hamilton, Essex Co., MA, James Parker. He was born 14 Sep 1784 at Beverly and died 10 Oct 1808 at Martinique. His parents were James & Joanna (Stone) Parker of Beverly. I do not know the ancestry of James Parker, Sr. James & Abigail (Chandler) Parker had two children (births recorded at Beverly): 1. John Parker, born 1 Mar 1804, died at sea. 2. James Parker, born 9 Dec 1807; married, 14 Nov 1844, Martha Ann Mardin. The above John Parker's birth date is inconsistent with his parent's marriage date. Chandler genealogy gives a birth date of Mar 1805 for John Parker. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Shelley Cardiel" <familia@sprintmail.com> To: <PARKER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, July 22, 2004 8:49 AM Subject: [PARKER-L] MORSE - PARKER Family Bible > I've "rescued" an old family bible which appears to have originally belonged > to the MORSE Family of Beverly, Massachusetts. 1. 1800s-1900s/MS/Scott, Rankin, Copiah, Jones, Simpson Co. families
    2. Hello, 1800s-1900s/Mississippi/Counties of Scott, Rankin, Copiah, Jones, Simpson BRIGHT, HALL, REDMAN, HARRELL, LEWIS, COLEMAN, ELLZEY, COLLINS?, COPELAND, TUCKER, PARKER, (JENNINGS, EARLE, (LEA & LEE,) (many of which married MYRICK-HERRINGTON-PRINE-GRANTHAM-BARLOW-AINSWORTH-STUCKEY-DICKENS-GRAVES) Recently, it has come to my attention that J./John? Wesley BRIGHT, born: abt. 1854/1855 in Mississippi, who married as the 1st/2nd husband of my paternal great grandmother, Mrs. Rachel Moranda "Randa/Randy" LEWIS COLEMAN? BRIGHT PARKER, born: 1851/abt. 1851 in Jones County, Mississippi, (daughter of John LEWIS, born: abt. 1820 in Jones County, Mississippi, (s/o Howell LEWIS and Nancy COPELAND,) and John LEWIS' wife, Harriett ELLZEY, (d/o Evan ELLZEY and Mary COLLINS?) was, most likely, but not yet totally proven, the son of George W./Wesley? BRIGHT, born: abt. 1799/1800 in South Carolina, and wife, Margaret "Peggy" HALL REDMAN, (apparently HALL by birth and stepfather was REDMAN,) and they lived in Rankin County, Mississippi and Scott County, Mississippi. Still looking to confirm this information....but having looked at the names of the children of this J. W. BRIGHT and wife, Rachael BRIGHT, as listed on the 1880 Rankin County, Mississippi Census it would be highly unlikely that it is anyone but my paternal 1st great grandmother and her 1st/2nd husband. I have been told by several family researchers that my great grandmother married both of her known husbands, J./John? Wesley BRIGHT and my great grandfather, Spencer B. PARKER, under the name of Moranda COLEMAN...some people show her 1st name with the spelling of Rachel but it actually appears to have been with the "a" spelling of Rachael which, apparently...but not totally sure comes from her great grandmother, Rachael TUCKER, wife of Ripley COPELAND, Sr., and the spelling of her middle name appears to have been Moranda....however, it is spelled by various people as Miranda, Maranda, etc., but have no idea, as of yet, where the name of COLEMAN came in from. And the spelling of LEWIS is sometimes shown as LOUIS but is correct with the Welsh/English spelling of LEWIS as opposed to the French spelling of LOUIS. I have no record of other marriages for Rachael Moranda LEWIS's parents, Harriett ELLZEY and John LEWIS. But my earliest of information from my immediate family actually showed her mother with the name of Carrie/Kerrie KNIGHT. This could have been confusion with Harriet's name and the BRIGHT name but not sure. And there were COLEMAN and KNIGHT families that were related to this family group....so.....confusion again. J./John? Wesley BRIGHT and Mrs. Rachael Moranda "Randa/Randy" LEWIS COLEMAN? BRIGHT (later PARKER) were the parents of several children including a son Henry BRIGHT who married Henrietta JONES whom is descended from JONES-BUSH-PRESCOTT-WALKER family group which I am also researching for WALKER - McCARTY connections out of Edgefield District, South Carolina. It would appear that J./John? Wesley BRIGHT's family group with parents, assuming that this is correct connection, G. W. (aka George W./Wesley?) BRIGHT, and Margaret "Peggy" HALL REDMAN, are listed in the 1860 Scott County, Mississippi Census and then later it appears that it is correct that this is the same J. W. BRIGHT, (aka J./John? Wesley BRIGHT,) with wife, Rachael BRIGHT, whom are listed in the 1880 Rankin County, Mississippi census where my great grandfather, Spencer B. PARKER, born: abt. 1859 in either Smith County or Rankin County, MS, is also listed with his siblings as his mother, Mrs. Sarah "Sally" JENNINGS PARKER, listed Sarah PARKER/or Sally PARKER, as the head of the household in the 1870 Rankin County, Mississippi Census. Sarah "Sally" JENNINGS was the widow of Jeremiah "Jerry" PARKER, born: abt. 1795 in Maryland, who may have married as a 1st/2nd wife, Sarah "Sally?" BAZAR/BAZOR/BAZER, in or abt. 1818 in Jackson County, Mississippi, and she may have been the mother of his 1st and possibly 2nd set of children with Jeremiah "Jerry" PARKER being found in the 1830 Copiah County, Mississippi Census with his 1st set of children born abt./aft. 1820 and then in again with them in the 1840 Copiah County, Mississippi Census......then in the 1850 Smith County, Mississippi Census, Jeremiah "Jerry" PARKER is found with his 2nd/3rd wife, Sarah "Sally" JENNINGS, born: 1821/abt. 1821 in Alabama probably or Mississippi, (daughter of Bailey JENNINGS and his 1st wife, Kitty EARLE,) with Sarah "Sally" JENNINGS the stepmother of the 2nd set of children listed in the census and then by the 1870 Rankin County, Mississippi; Looking to connect more of the dots. At the moment, I am working off a laptop without my files in my main computer due to a recent move from North Texas to far South Texas but will shortly have all of my files at my disposal.....and I do believe that I have pieced together some or all of the names of the 1st set of children of Jeremiah "Jerry" PARKER and his possible/probable 1st/2nd wife, Sarah BAZAR/BAZOR/BAZER....and I have the names of the 3 children from the 2nd set of children who may have also been the children of his 1st wife or may have been from a 2nd wife and I have the names of the children from the 2nd/3rd marriage to Sarah "Sally" JENNINGS as well as the names of the children of the marriage of J./John? Wesley BRIGHT and Mrs. Rachael Moranda LEWIS COLEMAN? BRIGHT PARKER and also those of her 2nd marriage to Spencer B. PARKER as well as some of the descendants of the BRIGHT and PARKER descendants....including marriage of the PARKER family into the HARRELL family which I have understood recently is also connected more deeply to the BRIGHT family. Looking forward to piecing together more of the puzzle. Thanks. Sincerely, Bellinda Myrick-Barnett

    1. Genealogy by DNA web sites
    2. Hi cousins: I want to share a couple of web sites on DNA testing for genealogy research with you. The first is from the Barton family, and it is becoming sort of a clearing house type site for all kinds of info for genealogy by DNA: http://worldfamilies.net/ The next one is the personal genealogy site of David Merrell. He provides an eloquent description of how he came to use DNA testing for his genealogy, and what he has learned from it. His explanation is much better than anything I have posted. http://www.merrell.net/ Please email me if you have any questions. FOSTER Beverly, Mass handwritten on back of page Based on limited research I believe that Addison GOODHUE was born 9 Nov 1814 in Chebacco, MA to parents Ebenezer GOODHUE and Anna BROWN and that Harriet C. MORSE was born in Beverly, MA as noted. Addison & Harriet was living in Wakefield, MA during the 1880 census with three children, James P. age 26, Charles B. age 23, and Adelia F. age 30. Abigail having been widowed before the 1880 census is recorded in Beverly, MA living with three of her younger children, Martha E. age 22, Sally E. age 19, and Nellie P. FOSTER age 16. Abbie F. FOSTER is recorded in the 1880 census living with her husband Charles A. KENT and 4 children, Freddie C. age 9, Gertrude age 7, Arthur S. age 4, and Leroy age 2 months. Abbie F. FOSTER's younger sister Henrietta married George O. ELDREDGE and was living with his parents, James & Eliza A. ELDREDGE in Wenham, MA during the 1880 census. It appears that Henrietta & George O.
