    1. Laurens SC Parkers, 1800
    2. Hi cousins: Do we have anyone descended from the PARKERs of Laurens Co. SC, circa 1800? A PARKER - BOLT researcher is offering to pay for the DNA test for a PARKER who can trace their roots to this location and time period. Briefly, the DNA must be from a male who carries the PARKER surname. The DNA sample is collected by swabbing inside the cheek, it is painless, quick, easy, and completed in the comfort of your living room. Please contact me off list if you are interested. 2. Gil Parker
    3. Especially to Karen in Fl. My John Parker is son of General Gerorge Lane Parker 17xx-1791, mother unknown, and brother of Ephraim, my GG Grandfather. We think that Ephraim, John and Eli were all born in NY or maybe Pa although the family later migrated to Illinois. We think our John married a Susan, but who knows? I think my line is Thomas b 1667in the U.K., George Lane b 1724 ? British Officer taken prisoner at Saratoga, Ephraim b 1779, Wilder b 1819, James b 1851,and William b 1894. Thanks for whatever. 3. I am interested in your John, as he may be related to one/some of the Amasa Parkers, given the son's name. I do not have a clear mindset of this family's relationships made out as that given name Amasa pops up a good bit. Yes, roots in MA, and RI's enroute to CT, which is next-door to NY. And I know that some "refugees" from NY went to CT during the Revolution, while some apparently went to NJ. Let me know if you think we could pursue this. http://www.dcnyhistory.org/books/murraysectionXV.html http://politicalgraveyard.com/bio/parker1.html Kaye in Texas > Date: Fri, 31 Dec 2004 15:05:42 -0800 (PST) > From: Karen Parker <arenlaine@yahoo.com> > Subject: Roll Call - John Parker c 1776 RI or MA > > John Parker b c1776 d 20 Jan 1865, my 3 ggrandfather, most census records > claim he was born in Rhode Island, one has him born Massachusetts. > > Married Mary (unknown), don't know when or where, Mary died 1849. > > Children > Reuben b 1799 Chenango Co NY > Sally b 8 Sep 1801 Chenango Co NY > Amasa b 3 Sep 1803 Chenango Co NY > Henry b 1804 Chenango Co NY > Amy b 18 Sep 1805 Chenango Co NY > Hiram b 1 Jan 1808 Chenango Co NY > Philander b 3 May 1812 or 14 Apr 1812 (date on tombstone) > Diana b 1816 Chenango Co NY > > Amasa, Henry and Hiram went to Wisconsin, Philander went to Pennsylvania > (Warren Co.) > > Am trying to find parents of John and Mary and last name for Mary. 3. Faye, I don't know if they are connected or not. According to the 1910 census John S. father was born in NewYork and his mother Illinois, the 1920 Census his father and mother were born in Ohio. The 1880 Census of Simion Parker has a son John Parker born 1865 (correct) father born NY(correct) mother OH (correct). They are in Boone, Dallas Co. IA just where they should be. Also according to the 1880 Census Simion Parker's father and mother were born in NY and it gives Ella Parker's father only as born in NY. I have found some Parkers buried in Prarie View cemetary in Woodward, Woodward Co. Ok. The list is for burials so i don't know if this is DOD or burial. Parker Jr. is listed below as having died in 1928 but something is wrong because he is listed on the 1930 Census as a 2 year old. Could it be his Birthdate? This list below is from the url shown. Only Carl, Levi and William F. are NOT my Parkers. Chester is the eldest son of John and Minnie. W. J. John b. 1785, VA, d.1860; m. 1808 (to Fannie East) John Parker was the son of Aaron Parker, Sr., b. VA. I don't know if there was ever a connection to Iowa or OK. 3. You might have luck by checking the Parkers in Isle of Wight and the Jamestown area. Parkers came into VA and migrated inland, northward and into Chowan County NC. I do not have a Philip in my records. Philip Parker, b. @ 1804, who would be my G-G-G-grandpa, is as far back as I can go. Can anyone definitively get back further? In looking over 1820 census data, I find John and Molly Parker in K&Q with at least one son in the age grouping where I'd expect to find Philip. In the next census, Philip is a head of household himself, John is apparently dead, Molly is given as head of household, and there are no sons in Philp's age group living with her. Therefore, John and Molly are my best guess as being Philip's parents. Anybody have any different theories? This one is driving me bonkers! Dianne
