    1. Eric Parker Author
    2. I have found a book left by my mother in her personal articles a book titled "A Book Of Comfort" published in 1944 by Harper & Brothers Publishers in New York. I have found this book for sale on some web sites. Does anyone know anything about this Eric? Are any of you related to him? I am curious why my mother had this book. She was the story teller of our line of Parkers and I remember a great deal about the things she told. But I didn't get interested soon enough. Who is this Eric Parker, the author. This book consists of beautiful poems. Pat in FL

    3. Hello George, I am interested in New England Parkers. My gr.gr. grandfather, Francis ? Parker, b. abt. 1817 in New England, sailed from Mystic, CT (ship unknown) and ship wrecked near Harbour Island, Eleuthera (it is said by his grandson Harry S. Parker). He married Jane Augusta Anne Newbold on 27 February 1837 on Harbour Island, Eleuthera, Bahamas and they had four Children: John Alexander, Sarah Jane, Rebecca and William Henry. It is unknown to me where in New England Francis was born or where his parents and siblings lived in New England. It is said that he had a New England accent. Can you help me. 1. Lucille M. Parker.Died in Terminal Hotel Fire, Atlanta, 1938.
    2. Hillcrest History
    3. Lucille M. Parker, 20 years of age. Died on May 16, 1938 in Atlanta Ga. in the fire of the Terminal Hotel. I am the Historian and preservationist of the cemetery (Hillcrest Cemetery, Stanton Rd. East Point, Ga) where she is buried. We have recently obtained the cemetery records and she was among 7 victims of this fire buried in the cemetery. I found a very interesting (but cloaked) article by a journalist, William Orten Carlton that sugested She may have not been a Parker. She checked in with a "George PArker who also died in the fire as "Mr. and Mrs. George Parker". However, The real Mrs. George Parker claimed the body of Mr. Parker and sued the hotel. So I have Questions as to if Lucille Parker was actually a Parker. The journalist never followed up on the theory. This has peeked my intrest and I am hoping that someone here may have heard of this. I have not found any contact info for the person that wrote the article and reseached it. I have no other information on Lucille M. Parker as to where she was from or any other dates. Just hoping that this is something that may have been discussed here at one time or maybe someone has some information. Don't ya love a good mystery? Thanks. 1. Amasa Parker b 1750ish
    2. K Powell
    3. Family lore states my Dolly Parker had a brother named Amasa and I think he'd have fought in the Revolution - a reason to specifically have a memory association with her brother's name. That may make him a little older than her birth date given as 2 Oct 1757. I'm going to guess he may have been born CT and may likely have fought at Monmouth NJ 1778. Dolly's father's house was somewhere near that 1778 battlefield. To help me get an idea who she was, can anyone identify an Amasa Parker this general time and place, please? I have good enough reason to believe the family lore. 1) According to a Delaware County NY local history, a younger (Col) Amasa Parker b abt 1788 (too young to be her brother) resided in Delaware Co where Dolly (Mrs John Cook) lived. Col Parker's nephew Amasa Junius Parker b abt 1807, son of his brother (Rev) Daniel, was a judge and later Justice of NY State Supreme Court. The 2 would seem to be nephew &c of Dolly. These Parkers came from Litchfield Co, CT. 2) Cook children named for Amasa Parker. Kaye in Texas __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail - now with 250MB free storage. 1. Parker Roll Call(surnames Parker/Kuykendall,Eubanks).
    2. My Parkers lived in Madison, Hardeman, Gibson , Tipton and Shelby County TN.(Memphis) late 1800s to abt 1960. My uncle William (Bill) was a baker/butcher for the Montesi Food Stores in Memphis before his death sometime between 1960 and 1980. There were four boys, Robert, Luther, William and Paul, and one girl Anne Ruth. Mother was LuEmma Kuykendall and father William Albert Parker. My father Paul C. and mother Ruby Lee married in Marion Co., AR. abt 1940 and dad gave an address on his reenlistment papers for the Marines as RR2 Arlington Rd., Little Rock ,AR. 1948. Seems part of the family moved to AR. The names Robert, William are prevalent in this line, dads children from his second marriage also had these names. Was told that Robert Parker ran away from a Memphis Orphanage abt 1930 and met a family in Jackson, TN. at the Calvary Baptist Church. They took him in moved to Nashville, TN. What data I have, I will gladly share. Thanks, Bob Parker
