    1. Parker Child born Wales 1945
    2. Sue Given
    3. Hi, Would anyone have any information on any of the following children. They all appear to be illegitimate, going on the fact that their surname and their mothers' surname is the same. Would be even more interested if one of them also has an "Elvira Parker" as a rellie, e.g. mother/sister/aunt/grandmother - someone who may have raised him. Could be he is my long lost cousin - his half sister has been looking for him since the 1950s - if he knows who his father is the father's name is Frederick Joseph (called Joseph Frederick in maintenance papers) Fuller who came from Bedford, England and was stationed in Wales in 1944/45. The children are: Jeffrey Parker, born Neath, June 1/4 1945, mother Parker Barry J Parker, born W. Glamorgan, Sept 1/4 1945, mother Parker Brian Parker, born St Asaph, Dec 1/4 1945, mother Parker All help or advice greatly received. Thanks Sue in Australia

    1. PARKER DNA "Elder John PARKER"
    2. Hi Betty: You are correct in your interpretation of the DNA test results. I am one of the few who does not have an oral tradition of kinship to Elder John, so I have not verified the genealogy and the documentation to support the descendency of our DNA participant. My correspondence with the researchers who submitted the sample, indicates that they are careful, thorough, and dedicated to finding the truth. That said, a single DNA sample does 'prove' a line of descent. It really takes two matching samples to identify a common ancestor. For example, in Parker Family Group #5, http://web.utk.edu/~corn/parkerdna/park5.htm which now includes the descendent of Elder John, we are confident that these 3 men share a common ancestor. Nothing in the DNA test tells us that Elder John is one of the descendents in that line. The person tested is descended from John's son Daniel. We have another sample in progress from a descendent of John's son Benjamin. If those two samples match, we will be confident that they share a common ancestor, and the evidence indicates that the common ancestor is Elder John. We will have that second result in May. Please email me if you have questions. Dennis West descended from Isham PARKER, 1815, Al or Md PARKER DNA coordinator ========= Betty wrote: It would be a huge genealogical breakthrough if the line from the DNA test participant has an unquestioned line from himself back to Elder John. However, I have encountered several persons who claim to descend from Elder John whose lineage will not stand scrutiny in the generations between themselves and Elder John. It seems to me that if there is an error in their work between themself and the claimed ancestor, the DNA test might prove their descent from the family group they are placed in but still not prove their descent from the claimed ancestor. 3. I have a question about the participants in the DNA study. Have they conclusively proved their descent from the ancestor claimed? My reason for asking this is that the family of Elder John Parker is one of the most claimed Parker lines but one of the hardest to prove (on paper). Because of the historical interest in this family, it has been my experience that almost every Parker with any connection to Texas has at some point considered that they may descend from this man; however, many of their lineages are incorrect. It would be a huge genealogical breakthrough if the line from the DNA test participant has an unquestioned line from himself back to Elder John. 1. Do medical treatments affect DNA
    2. Dennis West
    3. Charles and others who may have similar questions, Receiving or donating blood will have no effect on the results from this DNA test. Other medical treatments do not effect the DNA that we are testing. In other surname projects there are many people who have had radiation or chemotherapy cancer treatments, the DNA test of those people show matches to those they expected to match. Please email me any time you have questions. 1. Jewish Parkers
    2. CHARLENE
    3. Jack, Thank you for replying to my inquiry. Our Parkers came from New York or Massachusetts, according to our old family legends. This is probably a brick wall that will be impossible for us to climb over. According to my father, there was a little boy swinging on a swing in NYC. An unknown member of our Parker family took him in and eventually brought him to North Carolina, GA and then Alabama. According to my Aunt Ruth Parker, there were some men on horses who rode up to our great-grandparents' house in the middle of the night. They had a baby with them who was born out of wedlock. The baby had on very expensive clothing and blankets. They asked to spend the night. The next morning they were gone. The child was still there with a number of gold coins and a note written in a European language. Of course, the note was lost and we do not have any idea who this Jewish family was. Jack, this is far out, I know, but I couldn't help but ask if any other Parker's may have heard a story akin to this one. Any responses would be most welcome. Charlene Parker

    1. a Parker family from London, England to Newark, NJ
    2. Hi, Robert PARKER was a sailor. He lived at Potter’s Field, Surrey, England, according to the 1841 London census. Robert Parker was also known as Robert GOSLING. Robert Gosling married Sinagh PRICE at Saint Botolph’s Without Aldgate, London in 1829. Robert was born around 1789 and Sinagh was born ca. 1810. Robert and Sinagh had six children. The oldest two were baptized at Saint Saviour’s, Surrey, England; the younger four at Saint John Horseleydowns, Bermondsey, London, England. All of the children were given the double surname, Parker Gosling. By 1844 the Parker family migrated to Newark, New Jersey. I have no evidence that the Gosling surname was used after that. I don’t know why Robert Parker also used the name Robert Gosling. My current thinking is that Parker was his original name. There is some circumstantial evidence in the IGI pointing to Norfolk. The name Sinagh Price suggests roots in Shropshire or Wales. I’d be happy to hear from anyone who has a record of a person with that first name. A _descendancy_ (http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=DESC&db=mbc157588&id=I86) list for this family is pasted below. His father was a married English soldier from Bedford, England stationed in Wales around 1945 by the name of Frederick Joseph/Joseph Frederick Fuller"****** I am after information on an ELVIRA PARKER born in Bedwelty, Wales September Qtr, 1892 please. I am also after an ELVIRA PARKER who may have been in Wales in 1945 ish. They could be one in the same person. If so, then the second one would have possibly taken over the raising of her grandson about this time. A boy was born in Wales about 1945. An Elvira Parker started Court Proceedings for non payment of maintenance in 1950. I have been assuming that she was the mother, but finding the 1892 birth makes me think that maybe she was the grandmother. Can anyone help find the boy please? His father was a married English soldier from Bedford, England stationed in Wales around 1945 by the name of Frederick Joseph/Joseph Frederick Fuller. The boy's half sister has been looking for him for 50 odd years. Any information gratefully received. Thankyou, and have a nice day. Sue and Pat in Australia

    1. Elizabeth Parker (b. 1813 in GA?) m. Templeton Stuart
    2. JLP
    3. I'm new to the list and I sure could use some help - in a BIG way. I'd like to identify the likely parents of Elizabeth Parker (b. 18 January 1813) who married Templeton T. (a.k.a. Temple T, or just T.T.) Stuart/Stewart about 1830 (probably in Georgia). Templeton's family was living in Clarke Co., GA, but I can find no marriage for him in that county so I do not know where they were married, or, for that matter where they were living immediately after their marriage. But by the 1840 census they were living in Randolph County, Alabama. (They were constantly on the move - living in Bienville Parish, LA, for the 1850 census, in Columbia Co., Ark. For a short while, then to Grimes Co., TX, where Elizabeth died in 1863.) I can fill-in anyone interested on more details, but I haven't a clue who Elizabeth's parents were, where they lived, etc., and want that information badly. HALP!!!! Lou Poole, Richardson, TX

    1. Parker DNA project update, Feb 2005
    2. Hello Cousins: If you haven't checked our web pages for the PARKER DNA project recently, please take a look: http://web.utk.edu/~corn/parkerdna/ http://www.nhn.ou.edu/~parker/Genealogy/DNA.htm We have added several results since our last update, and family group # 4, is our newest lineage based on DNA testing. 1. Daniel and Angeline Parker
    2. Susan Schroeder
    3. Am looking for information on Angeline. I believe she was born around 1812 and died around 1849. She was married to Daniel, but I cannot find a last name for her. They were from Barre, Orleans Co., NY. Any information most appreciated. Thanks in advance. Sue Castanier Schroeder
