Hi everyone, I have not been active on this list, but I am hoping someone can help me with this line. My family has always "claimed" to be related to Quanah Parker as well. Funny how that is so common huh? LOL We are also supposed to be related to Jesse James. As my husband says "Every southerner claims to be related to Jesse James". (He is from the north) :) Anyway, I am not sure if we are related to Quanah Parker, but I cannot find a link. Though I have let this line remain dormant for so long. Here is all I have. Please if anyone can help me out with this line, I would love to see what you have. Henry P. Parker b. abt 1827 AL served with 26th Infantry Co F. as a private m. Have you read and researched the book "Parker's In America" by Agustus C. Parker? It is om micro-film ant the LDS Genealogy Libraries. You can order it to read there or copy, whichever you choose to do. It covers Parkers in all over, instead of one area. It has over 500 pages. Mary
I receive all the Parker postings, as I have P ancestors. But, they were in PA in 1850, and before that in CT.......But, I am interested in your WINN mention, as I am also descended from the WINN family in early MA.....By any chance is this your family?....cheers, Phyl in Reno Winngen7391@aol.com wrote: There are at least three, if not more, good books written by professionals , about Quanah Parker-I have three of them He is not connected to my husbands Parkers that we know of now, but that might be a possibility in the future if the two or 3 lines ever connect. Would really like to know the ancestors of Elder John Parker, father of Silas Mercer Parker. Have seen lots of info but there again --how correct is that info? My hubby is 5th great grandson of John Parker b. 1680 or later who d. in Hampshire Co VA in 1760, leaving a will naming his wife as only Elizabeth. Also named in the will were their 6 children and one grandson to share equally in the settlement . This grandson was Thomas Parker but we think his father might have been an older child (not on of these 6) who pre-deceased this John Parker. The estate settlement in June 1765 showed no listint of grandson Thomas Parker so he may have been deceased also. After the death of JOhn Parker in Nov 1760 and before the settlement in June 1765, widow Elizabeth had remarried to one Thomas McGuire who had a previous marriage. Elizabeth d. in 1786 and Thomas is thought to have married again and went back to his native county where he died in 1793. We have a certified genealogist working on this for us in VA now and he has sent us documents but nothing really conclusive and nothing that we were not aware of already. Maybe this will pan out with some good info for us soon. To make matters worse, the forenames of my Parker ancestors are also rather generic in nature. While I have discovered something of David Parker - approximate birthdate, 1824 in Somerset, and his death - 1882 in Kersbrook, South Australia, and marriage to Susannah Mewett in 1851 - I am having much more trouble with his parents, John Parker and Ann Clark. If there is anyone out there who thinks they may have a connection, any help would be appreciated!

I have been told all my life that I was kin to Quanah but have no trace of it. My Mother was a Stewart and one of her Stewart's married a Parker and are from Indiana. Hee was W.R. Stewart and married Cassy A Parker from Hamilton Co. Indiana. I have been searching this Parker family who is Ezekiel Parker and I find no trace of Indian blood. I am from Texas and have been in Mexia State Park many times and have seen the grave of Cynthia Ann who was Quanah's mother. I just had to email you to see if there was a possibility of connection. I have no trace of the relation but could be very easy as we are all in the same area. of Texas. Email me at "cpen@airmail.net if you see any connection Please. Thanks-Caroleen Penney
