I am attempting to locate the parents of Anson Parker, born Alabama or Tennessee and his wife Olivia Hatfield. Their son, Andrew J. Parker was born in Morgan County, Tennessee in Feb. 1828. The parents died when Andrew was but a child. He accompanied a half-brother to Arkansas when but 10 years old and was reared in Carroll and Marion Counties. According to family information, Andrew had 2 or 3 brothers. Information from "GOODSPEED'S NORTHWEST ARKANSAS." flholt@valuelinx.net
Wayne, and others, I am from MA and I came up with the same Alkincotes base in England as you. This spread seems to include Parker Brothers games as well as Parker Pen company. Also Captain John of Concord & Lexington. Imagine nearly 1000 years of Parkers! I have these census records, that is what led me to try and find a connection to the Ferris family. I have no idea where Lucy is in 1860 because all the records I have found show she died 14 Mar 1903. In the 1850 census there are two families listed in household #160; family #165 has A. Ferris age 39 (who is he) and Isaac Rury age 10 (Isaac is John Parker's grandson, son of his daughter Dianna and George Rury, she died in 1849) and family #166 John Parker and Lydia Ferris. I still have not found a family for Lydia Ferris.

As you can see this could get confussing, so the King of England said you had to have a last name. Our ancestors were keepers of the Royal hunting park and were called parker. Thus they choose their last name to be Parker.Because there were difference families who were parker when they also took on the name of Parker. They wood not necessary be kin thus we have difference lines that are not kin to each other. I have no idea who John's parents are [his wife is Mary last name unknown] and I have no idea where or if the Ferris people fit into the family. If Abram is related to your Ferris people then maybe my John is related to your Susan or maybe Mary is a Ferris.
