James Morgan Purvis/Purves in 1844. After James died Mary lived with her dau. Susan Frances Turney/Purvis/Purves. I last found Mary & Susan in the 1910 census living in Erath Co., TX, she was 81. Her parents were possibly born in MS. Mary may have died in 1916. Mary Ann was possibly Choctaw.

I know this doesn't help you find your Oscar, but maybe it will help you in the separtaion of Parkers. His estate settlement there in 1814 mentions money coming from Anson Co., NC. His 1812 will in Stewart Co., TN mentions 3 sons (Stephen, David, Nathan) and 8 daughters (Patience Matheny, Nancy Taylor, Charity Griffin, Suca Griffin, Polly Travis, Phoebe Parker, Kesiah Parker & Spicy Parker). This fits well with the 1790 Anson Co. census, in which John Parker had 3 sons and 4 daughters.

Parkers from my family were in Dade Co, GA in 1850. They were Ewell and Elizabeth (Lemmons) Parker. I believe they came from Coffee County, TN, to Dade Co, and then returned to Coffee Co. Ewell and Elizabeth had a son named Lorancy Dowell Parker. I believe this might have been a family name (though the spelling may vary). I would be very interested in sharing information with you. Maria Golden b abt 1833 New York according to census records, married Aden Parker 1851 in Warren Co, Pennsylvania, they later moved to Grant Co., Wisconsin. Janette Golden b abt 1836 New York according to census records, married Charles Parker 1864 in Grant Co., Wisconsin. I don't know if these two women are related but they did marry brothers. The Parker brothers were born in Chenango Co. New York, from there they went to Warren Co., Pennsylvania and then on to Wisconsin.
