Author: veehb Surnames: Parker, Butterfield Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.parker/14417.2.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Jason, Thanks for the quick response. I'm trying to get my files organized. I'll send you some of the info I have on the Parkers in Maine. What software do you use for your family search files? I can send you a GEDCOM that should work in most of the modern programs. I use Personal Ancestral File (PAF) to track my data. My Parker ancestors did go West and ended up here in Utah. They joined the LDS church in Maine in about 1835 and ended up in Utah in about 1850. I live near Salt Lake City. My Samuel Parker (1790 - 1846) and his daugher, Mary Jane Parker did go to Ohio from Maine. They went to Kirtland, Ohio in about 1836. If your ancestors went there also, then we are probably in the same Parker family. Mary Jane Parker is my gg grandmother. She married Thomas Butterfield and they were pioneers in Utah. Samuel Parker died in Council Bluffs, Iowa and never made it to Utah. I tried to reply to this using my MSN email, but it bounced. Guess I need to reply here on the web site. 1. [PARKER] WILLIAM HAMILTON PARKER in Co MAYO, Ireland
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: wbwebster Surnames: PARKER, WEBSTER Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.parker/15095/mb.ashx Message Board Post: In February 1831, WILLIAM HAMILTON PARKER is named as an executor in a will in which he is said to be "of the Westport, Ireland". I believe the only Westport in Ireland is in county Mayo. The will is made by Richard Webster in favour of his wife, MARGARET PARKER. They had married just over 25 years previously at TUAM in Galway. I am thinking that WILLIAM HAMILTON PARKER is more likely to be Margaret's brother than her father. If so, he may have been born around 1780 - 1790. But where was he born, and to whom? Margaret PARKER was my paternal gg-grandmother and I would dearly like to find her family. Does anyone have knowledge of a PARKER family in Mayo, especially around say 1770 - 1850? Best wishes to all Bill Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
