    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: ENelsonDean Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.parker/15153.3/mb.ashx Message Board Post: The Wisconsin Historical Society maintains an online index for pre-1907 VRs. One possible spouse for Pharus is Laura E. Niles. She is listed in the index -- married 25 May 1870 in Juneau County (Volume 1, page 156). The name Laura does not match up with Elizabeth (1880 census) or Liby/Libby (1870 census). Maybe her nickname was Libby ,and her middle name was Elizabeth. Or maybe Pharus married another person. You can purchase ($15) the marriage record for Pharus from the society. There is a "BUY" button in the index search results that starts the purchase process. Author: Diann855 Surnames: Parker, Wescott Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.parker/5665.1.4.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I see you "knew" Jackie and Arch. They were my aunt-in-law and father-in-law, respectively. We have picked up their genealogy work and have corresponded with Jack Wilson who sends this data: Children of JOHN PARKER and TABITHA WESCOTT are: 3.i.JOHN3 PARKER, b. March 30, 1779, Rhode Island; d. January 20, 1865, New York. He married MARY. She was born 1775, and died November 17, 1847 in New York. Notes for JOHN PARKER: John Parker and Mary first show up on the 1800 NY census, Sherburne, Chenango County with one child. In 1804 John and Mary bought 120 acres in Sherbourne, Chenango County for $338 in cash. John and Mary sell 20 acres to Solomon Aldrich for $85. Legal papers describe them as being from DeRuyter. John sells the remainder of his original 120 acres to James Aldrich for $913. ---- I do not know what the evidence is that this John Parker, OUR John, is the son of John and Tabitha, except that I see there is a birth date and place. I hope there is a birth certificate or other proof, but I do not know. Both Jackie and Arch had this family in their notes, but did not see anything definitive that caused them to believe this family was "it".
