Hello cousins, I am trying to find a Dennis West (not me!) who posted information on a male name Orion PARKER on the y-DNA search facility. I know of at least 3 other Dennis West's doing genealogy, and hope that one of them, or someone reading this message has Orion PARKER, died in Florida, in their files. He took the oath of citizenship 28 Oct., 1840, at age 29, in Norfolk. According to Virginia and federal census records from 1850, Samuel was a grocer, born in England. He died in the yellow fever epidemic in 1855. Any idea if the Norfolk, England Parkers were shopkeepers or grocers? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I have a Samuel born 1810 at Rockland St Mary, in Norfolk, England. This Samuel (jnr) had 5 siblings. He was the son of Samuel PARKER, born 1772, and Mary REEVE, born c1788. Could this be the same person? I have no details of his life after his birth - recorded in the Parish Records of that village. Benjamin Wicker dtd. 7/21/1769. At time of bond, Benjamin Parker was 9 1/2 yrs old. Wording on archaic documents is difficult for me. I'm trying to discern wheter Benj Parker IS the son of Benj Wicker or just a Bond Servant, since the bond requires Wicker to educate Parker and train him to be a Planter. Isaac & Susannah married 25 Jul 1798 in Hartley Twp., where they had nine children: 1. --?--Parker (daughter), born 29 Oct 1798, died 2 Nov 1798. 2. John Parker, born 3 Mar 1800, living 1860. 3. Isaac Parker, born 15 Feb 1802, living 1870. 4. William Parker, born 12 Apr 1804, living 3 Apr 1856. 5. Mary Parker, born 8 Aug 1806, died in "Lower Sandusky, OH." 6. Susannah Parker, born 27 Feb 1808, died 8 Jun 1810. 7. Susan Parker, born 16 Oct 1819, died 16 Jul 1823. 8. Sarah Parker, born 31 Aug 1813, living 3 Apr 1856. 9. Jacob Parker, born 14 Apr 1817, living 3 Apr 1856. The elder Isaac Parker served as a sergeant in the Revolutionary War. His 10-page Rev War pension file (#R7954) can be viewed online through HeritageQuest. In the file is a 12 Apr 1856 affidavit by Peter & Mary Miller, brother and sister-in-law of then widow Susannah (Miller) Parker. Peter & Mary stated five of the nine children were then living - they were John, Isaac, William, Sarah and Jacob. I see that at least two of those five children (i.e., John and Isaac) were of Sandusky Co., OH. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
