My brick wall, aka my ggg grandfather John Parker Mason is a mystery. (would have been born in 1830's)The only thing I have is rumor. He left after his wife's death in the York County, Pa (Peach Bottom/ Slateville area) (maybe around 1860)and was never heard from again. Can't find anything (maybe the civil war)My GG grandfather listed his father's place of birth as Deleware on a census. I know it was common in my family to use maiden names as middle names. If anyone has a John Parker Mason in their tree, Please contact me..Need Help Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. My grandmother's name was Pearl Parker--she was born in 1896, in NY? or in Sharon,Pa., where supposedly her father was from. I have no names for any of her family. She married my grandfather--Benjamin H. Brayley--they had two children--Flora A. Brayley and Benjamin Edward Brayley--my father. I am the eldest of 13 siblings, my age is 61--I have been searching my whole life to try and find her family. I have one picture of her with grandpa, in the early 1900's. It looks like there were two Bryant/Briant/Brian Parkers born about the same time, since they are both in census records for several decades (one in NC, one in GA/AL). I have a Bryant Parker born 1810-1812, son of John Parker and Fannie East. John Parker (my GGGGrandfather) was born in 1790 in Halifax County, NC, but was in Clarke County, GA by 1820. Bryant was a brother of Ephraim Parker (my GGGrandfather). My information shows the wife of this Bryant was Susan Catherine Ralls. John and Fannie Parker were in Chambers County, AL by 1840. These Parkers were from Nansemond County, VA before moving to NC. The story I have always been told is that she was born in Cooter, MO in 1923. I knew her name to be Jo Lewis Lawrence. Her mother's name was Georgia. Her stepfather was Thomas Parker. Jo married Ralph Henry Haulum in 1946. They lived in Memphis, TN and had five children (Frances, Lydia, Julia, Paul, and Mary Ellen "Melie") I cannot find any records at all on Jo or Georgia. I don't know if this is just poor record keeping, or some huge family secret. Jo passed away in 1980. Georgia passed away in 1988. By the time I was old enough to ask questions, my grandfather wouldn't talk about it. If anyone has any info I would be grateful. thank you Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Yes, Celia Stewart was first married to James Harrison Dallas and they had 3 children. She then married John L. Parker on 9/25/1867. They too had 3 children. Her children are reported on Census as living with her and John. First I have heard of a John L. in CA so I have not researched that. I had no idea simply trying to find a great great grandfather would be so difficult when I have found such extensive info on other ancestors. Any info you come up with and wish to share - I would appreciate it. My direct email is [email protected] if you wish to use that.
