I have grandparents, Margaret Herbert Butz ( her maiden name in question) and Joseph Lee Sterling, (this is a lock for him). Judging by 1900 census, they were married abt. 1892. Any other way to find out about their marriage with the exception of Philadelphia City Archives? I am in SW Florida and not able to go to Philly. If not, do any of you listers live in Philly and go to Archives @ times? If so, I'd be happy to pay expenses to have copy of this marriage. Doesn't need to be certified....only a copy. I'd be most indebted. Much thanks to this wonderful list. D. Blackwell In a message dated 4/2/2010 12:51:25 P.M. It is much cheaper that way, but it would not be certified, just an ordinary copy. --- On Fri, 4/2/10, Sndtenterprises@aol.com <Sndtenterprises@aol.com> wrote: > Philadelphia marriages: > > City Archives 1 July 1860 to 31 Dec 1885. > Marriage License Bureau 1 Oct 1885 to the present.
