It was not a funeral director or undertaker association. It was a burial association, sort of an insurance association. The members paid dues to the society so that when they died there would be a money for them to be buried. This was before the concept of "life" insurance. Gene and Don.... WOW!!! I did learn something new today! Thanks so much for filling me in on the burial association. I had those phrases translated by a German lady....opps!!!
