It is on sale right now for a year for half that price, I just double checked: http://go.footnote.com/special/?p=extend&iid=742 But let's get back to helping her with her research, not to get too off-topic. In my own directory research, in which I like to study all the entries for a surname for a span of twenty to thirty years in a particular city, I find that surnames can often be misspelled, house numbers entered wrong, and that women do not tend to be listed unless they are employed or a head of household. So, I would suggest checking one or two years before and after 1897 and 1898 as well as alternate spellings if you can catch her or a spouse or a child listed, or that address in any other years. If I am looking for a member of a particular family, then I also look for the addresses of any known children, also using all the spelling variants of their surnames I can think of, as sometimes I turn up a known address, or one that is a few digits off. Most of my directory research has been for other areas, especially Cleveland and Northern California, but I have done some Philadelphia directory research as well. http://freepages.family.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~thecohens/dubinskydir.html http://freepages.history.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~thecohens/ > --- On Fri, 5/28/10, jwest21@kc.rr.com <jwest21@kc.rr.com> wrote: > There is a charge for this site, it is not free. $79.99 per year or $11.95 > monthly.
