    3. I have seen dates of death listed in some directories, but not in any Philadelphia city directories. I've used these for various surnames for several years, and that little gem of information hasn't been spotted by me. Also, looking at the changes made in the front or back of the directories, is a way to see who was removed or added from some of them -- that can give clues, but I personally haven't found it all that useful. I just want to let you know to check out the other parts of the directories (one has a fantastic map!). Do you have the exact date of death? If you do, I may be able to help you with this one, but it wouldn't be for another week or two. --- On Fri, 5/28/10, bellemarco@gmail.com <bellemarco@gmail.com> wrote: One more question, do the Phila directories have a page of who died  within the year as I know some directories do this?

No, if the one on the typed page gives you a batch number or film number, you should be able to order a photocopy from the LDS copy service for much less expense. More about this on my ordering tips page, including a direct link to the order form: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~thecohens/ordering.html#lds Now, maybe all they have is a filmed index, but if they have more than that, it may be a cheaper way to go, at $2 a page with a $4 minimum order.
