According to St. Stephen's history, the original little church was too small and badly in need of repairs. The cemetery was by that church. The new church was built at the corner of Broad and Butler. Eventually, the site of the old church and cemetery on Lycoming St. fell into disrepair. The cemetery was an active burial site for fewer than 50 years. My note....consider that New Cathedral was only a mile away. Yes, you have the right address It is 1427 Lycoming St. ----- Original Message ----- From: <jaego2@aol.com> To: <paphilad@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, May 26, 2010 3:44 PM Subject: Re: [PAPhl] St. Stephen Catholic Cemetery > When I look at a Google Map of Lycoming and Elser I can see a little > fenced lot, but no markers.
