Many thanks to Barbara and Joe for providing newspaper articles describing this death. Fascinating! Now I wonder what happened to the perpetrator, Sarah Stead. Is there a way to find court records from back then? Thanks so much for your continued help. I checked the newspapers a year or two out from the murder in 1924 and I never saw her name mentioned again. It could have been that see was telling the truth and it was decided it was in self-defense.
