Harry Buskey, 35 was stabbed to death by his mother-in-law, Mrs Sarah Stead, police declared. The woman is alleged to have said that she killed the man to save the life of her husband, Walter Stead, with whom Buskey was fighting. According to witnesses, Buskey, under the influence of liquor, went tonight to the home of his wife's parents with shom she had been living because of illness. He became abusive and Mr. Stead, coming home, tried to reason with him. A fight started and Stead, of slight build, was punished severely. Mrs Florence Summers, another daughter and the other women separated them, they declared, but Buskey attacked them again. Buskey, the woman said, had his father-in-law down on the floor and was beating him mercilessly when Mrs. Stead seized a butcher knife and stabbed him four times. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lynne" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, May 20, 2014 8:49 PM Subject: [PAPhl] Harry BUSKEY murdered Dec. 1924 by Sarah STEAD > > Hello all > > My Lancashire family liked to flit back and forth from England to the US, > resulting in a few children being born in the Philadelphia area and others > born in England.
