    3. Alternately you can scroll down the website some and find the BROWSE ALL PUBLISHED COLLECTIONS, then scroll down to UNITED STATES CENSUS, and choose the one you are interested in. I find that to be easiest.  From: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, August 24, 2016 5:23 PM Subject: PAPHILAD Digest, Vol 11, Issue 22 Send PAPHILAD mailing list submissions to     [email protected] To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit     http://lists9.rootsweb.ancestry.com/mailman/listinfo/paphilad or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to     [email protected] You can reach the person managing the list at     [email protected] When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific than "Re: Contents of PAPHILAD digest..." Find where you can do a search (it's a choice up at the top). A window will come up, into which you can input the name of the person you are researching, plus a range of dates. I usually use a 2-year spread for males, but this can be modified if you get no results. Also input at least the state you think they were born in. If not known, input the state you KNOW they later lived in. They use Soundex, which cn find like-sounding names in case Various records will come up; not just the census records, but usually a lot of other type of records. War pensions; marriage and death records; etc. Lots of useful vital records Alternatively, depending on where you live, you might be able to access HeritageQuest through your county library's website (remotely, from home). Call your city or county  library and ask. This requires a library card and (usually) a visit to the library that will activate your internet-access privileges. I use BOTH FamilySearch and HeritageQuest in research. The two services can often return different, complimentary results. I have good success with this for years, and now in my 16th year, my database has grown to include over 156,000 individuals, in over 44,000 families. I'm not  subscriber to Ancestry.con... I am using the HQ + FS technique heavily lately, because of DNA research & the need to look up people born in the 20th century, whose children could match DNA with me or a cousin, or with a co-researcher. Good luck!
