    3. Yes, I have the 1940 census showing she was a patient at the institution; also the 1920 and 1930 censuses, so she was a long-time resident. I also have her 1944 death certificate, stating she died of cerebral hemorrhage, with other conditions being schizophrenia, paranoid type, and that she had been a patient there for over 31 years. It appears she was committed circa 1913. Since the death certificate listed the mental illness by name, I did not follow up with the institution. She died at the institution, but was brought home to be buried in Delaware by her family. Thanks for your interest. 3. This all "intrigues" me. I am working on my Waughtel family genealogy and many were in/from Pennsylvania. One lady was institutionalized prox 1905 (I'm guessing as I don't have the notebook out) but died there after 1940 - she was in all the census records as being there during that time frame. BUT they had a child (supposedly) in 1925 evidently dying young - I'll have to check my records on this also - I have pictures of the grave markers - other than the grave marker I can find nothing else on this child, a son. Thank you for your patience with me - Antoinette On Sat, Aug 13, 2016 at 9:41 AM, Karen Moore <[email protected]> wrote: > Yes, I have the 1940 census showing she was a patient at the institution; > also the 1920 and 1930 censuses, so she was a long-time resident.
