    3. Your email and the cost made me think....... in the 1960s I was just beginning my genealogy quest and wrote to the veteran's department in Washington D.C. hoping to find information on my G. G. grandfather. For a whole dollar I got the entire packet copied, including information on the birth of his three children and marriage. He had died at Andersonville prison and his widow had to send proof of the marriage and children! Of course, being a newbie I had no idea what a treasure this was and my luck would likely never be repeated. Good luck.
