    1. Re: [PAPhl] A Marriage Question - Houseal/Myers
    2. I had a marriage in Phila where the bride used a different last name. This doesn't seem to be the case here because I checked familysearch.com for all Blanches married in 1895 and came up with nothing that is similar to the groom. The only way I found mine was getting the marriage license number from the Catholic Church which was still in existence. Sorry to be of no help. -----Original Message----- From: Betty Torno <btorno@charter.net> To: paphilad@rootsweb.com Sent: Thu, Aug 5, 2010 12:05 pm Subject: Re: [PAPhl] A Marriage Question - Houseal/Myers Helene, Sometimes, and I hope this is not the case, the clergyman forgot to egister the marriage. This happened to my great grandparents - the riest registered many marriages years after he performed them in St. ouis County, fortunately with the proper earlier dates - 3 children had lready been born to my great grandparents before the wedding was duly egistered with the civil authorities. My great-great-grandparents, Frederick Houseal and Blanche Myers, were married on February 22, 1895 in Philadelphia. I have the announcement from the Inquirer indicating that they were married in Philadelphia by Rev. Everett Lyon. However, they don't appear in the Philadelphia Marriage Applications index. I've done an online search and searched the film myself at the FHL. Does anyone have any other ideas? Does anyone know what church Rev. Lyons might have pastured? I have no idea where either of them was living in 1895 but in 1990 they were at 2720 Lehigh Ave. Thanks!
