    3. One of my research associates subscribes to Newspapers.com (this is paid subscription). We have some good results from there for articles from certain Philadelphia papers, for instance, such as death-funeral announcements and so forth; also articles about accidents or items that came up in court. Even without the paid subscription here, we can often find the same newspapers in google search, and they usually do include some OCR of the text. Look out if trying to use the OCR text --some OCR is not good (garbled; bad characters, etc), and from other articles, the text might contain lines from various artlcles that had been in colums, so it's possible that text from several articles seems to be together when it really isn't. So the subscription would be useful.
