    1. [PAPhl] Early Philadelphia records question

    3. Good Morning, It has been several years since I have researched Philadelphia records; can someone tell me if there were county records for marriage bonds, licenses, etc. for the period 1770-1800? I have the church records with dates but was hoping to find a bond that might give a clue to parents. What records are available for the 1700s? Does anyone on this list have access to the book "Philadelphia Naturalization Records" by P. William Filby? I would greatly appreciate a lookup for George McClasky pre 1800. Thank you for your help. Stephanie in Oregon

    3. Marriage records for those early dates are church records. Try the Historical Society of Pennsylvania. Gene Stackhouse in Germantown Heights. > From: Stephie21@charter.net > To: paphilad@rootsweb.com > Date: Fri, 4 Jun 2010 08:18:33 -0700 > Subject: [PAPhl] Early Philadelphia records question > > Good Morning, > It has been several years since I have researched Philadelphia records; can > someone tell me if there were county records for marriage bonds, licenses, > etc. for the period 1770-1800?
