Since I now have the exact date of death for our Philip Kline who died in 1858, and he is not listed under FHC death records, what chance do I have of getting a death/transportation records from Phila if I should send monies to order one - of getting one? Elaine
If it's not in the FHC death records, which include transportations, then the chances aren't too good in my opinion. However, it could be indexed incorrectly, and that's why it's not found there. Do you have his death notice? Or a cemetery record? --- On Tue, 6/15/10, bellemarco@gmail.com <bellemarco@gmail.com> wrote: Since I now have the exact date of death for our Philip Kline who died in 1858, and he is not listed under FHC death records, what chance do I have of getting a death/transportation records from Phila if I should send monies to order one - of getting one?

Did Philadelphia keep death records that far back? You may have to find the name of the church he was buried from or a death notice or the name of the cemetery. I thought death records date from sometime in the 1880's.
