Kathy, Good source of current info you asked is: http://www.phila.gov/phils/Docs/Inventor/genealgy.htm#nats Jim Cullen Cullen Kelly Loomis Sheridan Teesdale Harvey Scheetz Tyrrell Kent Ferris Miller Evans http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~jimcullen/ -----Original Message----- From: Kathyborne@aol.com [mailto:Kathyborne@aol.com] Sent: Wednesday, April 05, 2006 5:34 PM To: PAPHILAD-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [PAPHL] Naturalization Records I am new to this list and am trying to find out how to obtain naturalization records in Philadelphia. I consulted the book, Philadelphia Naturalization Records edited by P. William Filby, but it was printed in 1982 and I am wondering if the addresses are still current. For example, does one still request Court of Common Pleas records from the Philadelphia City Archives? I have the address as Room 523, Philadelphia City Hall Annex, Philadelphia, PA 19107. For U.S. District Court, I have: Archives Branch, Federal Archives and Records Center, 5000 Wissahickon Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19144, with a notation to first write the Naturalization Clerk of the U.S. District Court, U.S. Courthhouse, 601 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106, for the petition number. Finally, the book says Supreme Court records must be obtained from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, P.O. Box 1026, Harrisburg, PA 17120. I would appreciate it if someone could tell me whether all this information is current. Thank you.
