You are right about Sebastian and Nicolaus. I have their records from a descendant of theirs but she didn't go far enough for me to trace my line. I have the Lancaster County U.S. Census of 1860 showing a Joseph Gehringer, age 30, from Baden, wife named Charlotte, age 34, Darmstatch, with a Florina Shaule, age 12, whom I have no idea who it is. Joseph is supposedly my great grandfather but I can't connect either going back or forward. He could be the son of William & Elizabeth Snyder. I don't want to burden you with all my research problems. Thanks once more.
