What would be the best papers for a death in 1910, and where would they be archived?
Here are just some of the newspapers that are archived at the Newspaper and Magazine Database Center at the Free Library of Philadelphia. Philadelphia Bulletin, 4/10/1847-1/29/1982 Philadelphia Inquirer, 4/3/1860-date Philadelphia Public Ledger, 3/25/1836-3/15/1934 Philadelphia Record, 5/14/1870-2/1/1947 Of course, there are MANY others. Send a written request with the person's name, date of death (month, day, year) or burial date and a stamped self-addressed envelope. We will only check two newspapers. The cost of photocopying from microfilm is 50 cents per page with a $1.00 minimum. Maximum of 2 obituaries can be requested at one time.
