Ann: Thanks for your response. When I wrote that query yesterday I had just returned from the FHC in Broomall where I had searched the film of the Philadelphia Marriage Register, again with no luck. I had previously searched in the Philly archives and in City Hall. Of course they could have been married elsewhere but they both lived in the city and her children by a previous marriage were buried here at Woodmont Cemetery. I doubt if they eloped to Elkton! Ergo, I have run out of ideas. Thanks anyway! Craig

Craig, I forgot what year you were looking for ? I just got some info in my search that Pa didn't require them to get a license until the late 1880's One of the ones I was looking for was 1915 but couldn't find it . They are the ones I think went to Elkton. Cecil County Maryland. However I do have 2 for the Philly area. Keep a look out for I) Charles Jaep and Minnie / Wilhelmina Hoppackh/ Hoppack abt. 1881. 2) James Stevenson and Theadocia McClaren/McClarion about 1895 Would appriciate the extra eyes. Thanks.
